[JOYnet] remember this pearls !!!!!!!

2002-11-30 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose
Hi freinds,

Prejomy, your sharing is really beautiful and touching... Thanks for sharing
this with us. Like you we also start praying for more sufferings, at least
we try to
be happy in our daily suffering, thanks for teaching this lesson.

Jancy Joshy's stories also really interesting. We hope your husband attened the
Jesus youth program and he is happy about that.

When I read KG Mathews mail I remember our bangalore JOY net gathering. We
all were really happy to see the real face of that 30 joynetters. That time
we found
our Mathew (Joynet cordinator) so younger than we thought, after getting
his advises
we thought he is an old animator, but we found he is just in his 40's. Then
there
were so many interesting finding that days.

One small suggestion is it is very difficult to identify every one from
email address so
please make sure you write your name and place with each mails you send to
joynet,

Hope more guys will start wiring there experiences in joynet,

Luv, Suresh

[JOYnet] Oh Kuwait, Kuwait, How blest you are!!

2002-11-30 Thread josunjose
Dear wonderful people of God,

A positive phenomena that has arrayed Kuwait with his presence.

My dear brother in Christ Pradeep Mathew, a second batch volunteer of
Delhi and my wonderful prayer partner has set his feet there in Kuwait
today. Pradeep is a male nurse by profession and a missionary by baptism
and he’s in Kuwait to do God’s will. Nothing more. Nothing less. Nothing
else. And also today Nov 30 is the day, many years ago, a wonderful couple
was blest with their last child. Pradeep.

I had the fortune of being a volunteer the same year as pradeep. More than
anything else, I love Pradeep for his bridge building mentality. He always
goes out of the way to heal a breach. God bless him.

One of the things I abhor the most, is when my parents and siblings
nitpick about me to my fellow Jesus youth!! It strips me of my dignity at
times and punctures my beloved EGO. Though it has been a blessing in
disguise, coz I’m extra careful not to tarnish my face value at home.

I remember once, I was helping my mom in the kitchen, washing the dishes
while she was making chapathis. My younger brother (John Bosco), came and
threw his plate into the sink, splashing water on my face and clothes, and
ran out. I couldn’t chase him. I screamed!! “ bl!@#*& !#$$%… you don’t
know how to put a plate in the sink!“ and my mom took the chapathi rolling
pin and hailed down a hit on my back Saying “is this for what you have
become a Jesus youth?” How i wished the Good Lord in his justice would
send down fire and brimstone and consume me up or there would be an
earth quake at that moment and the kitchen crumbles on my head!! She
further rubbed it in, “let me meet Pradeep and your other Jesus Youths
ninne sheri aakenongil Pradeep mathri aalkarre vennam!” (if you are to be
set right, u need fellows like pradeep who will put u in place!) I Learnt
my lesson for life... Pradeep has indeed been a wonderful brother to me.

Hey people send Pradeep birthday greetings and zap him up on his email

[JOYnet] Saint of the Day

2002-11-30 Thread jose joseph
Dears,

Since Suma is leaving for India on leave, if God
wills, I will post the 'Saints of the Day' till first
week of February 2003. Here is the life history of
today's saint.

love + prayers, Joseachayan / Jeddah

November 30

St. Andrew (Patron of Fisherman

Andrew, like his brother Simon Peter, was a fisherman.
He became a disciple of the great St. John the
Baptist, but when John pointed to Jesus and said,
"Behold the Lamb of God!" Andrew understood that Jesus
was greater. At once he left John to follow the Divine
Master. Jesus knew that Andrew was walking behind him,
and turning back, he asked, "what do you seek?" When
Andrew answered that he would like to know where Jesus
lived, Our Lord replied, "Come and see." Andrew had
been only a little time with Jesus when he realized
that this was truly the Messiah.
>From then on, he chose to follow Jesus. Andrew was
thus the first disciple of Christ. Next, Andrew
brought his brother Simon (St. Peter) to Jesus and
Jesus received him, too, as His disciple. At first the
two brothers continued to carry on their fishing trade
and family affairs, but later, the Lord called them to
stay with Him all the time. He promised to make them
fishers of men, and this time, they left their nets
for good. It is believed that after Our Lord ascended
into Heaven, St. Andrew went to Greece to preach the
gospel. He is said to have been put to death on a
cross, to which he was tied, not nailed. He lived two
days in that state of suffering, still preaching to
the people who gathered around their beloved Apostle.
Two countries have chosen St. Andrew as their patron -
Russia and Scotland.

[JOYnet] Away from Home

2002-11-30 Thread eddy
Hello Friends,

I am here in Singapore, reached here yesterday and Dexon was there at the Airport, met
the elder prayer group leaders of the place in the evening. Today there was a one-day
meet of the Jesus Youth first line group from 9.30 to 4.30. After that all the eleven
members of the JY Singapore core team met at Tony and Manju's house and we had a nice
time. Some of them are staying here over night. I should finish the mail and continue
my chat with them.

Thailand meeting was very interesting and fruitful. I had received quite a number of
prayer offers from Joynet for my trip. Thank you very much.

This Asian Bishops' meeting was organised by FABC Communication office for Bishops and
the theme was "E-generation. The Communication of Young People in Asia. A Concern of
the Church." About 60 were there with most of them Bishops and some communication
experts.

I was there only for two days, it must have ended this afternoon. The time I spent
with the Bishops was extremely useful for me personally and also for Jesus Youth.
After the first talk itself Fr. Henry Disouza from Delhi got up to say that when you
think of youth Jesus Youth movement deserves special mention. He did not know that I
was there. Soon after that the new Jabua Bishop, Bp. Chacko came to greet me. We were
meeting for the first time and he had high praises for JY.

>From Hong Kong, other than the Bishop, there was the youth in charge of the office of
>CCC (the Asian Christian Coordination Council, the counter part of FABC in Asia). He
>was so eager from the beginning to hear about Jesus Youth. We had much sharing.

My first presentation to the Bishops (the chairman of the session was the Archbishop
of Lahore, Pakistan, a very nice bishop) was entitled "Experiences of a Youth Leader"
and I spoke mainly on the Characteristics of Jesus Youth. It was so well received.

All the Indian Bishops were so very happy. Archbishop of Agra (Santhosh, Alexy, Shiny
- are you all listening) immediately came up to tell me 'I had some very serious
questions about Jesus Youth and after your talk all that is cleared'. A Phillipines
Bishop was much captivated by my point about 'continuity' in JY. Archbishop Abraham
Viruthukulangara was constantly taking of JY everywhere. A Malasian Bishop was so
eager to do something in his country like JY. Two South Korean, editors of two
Catholic newspapers had a tough time interviewing me with their broken English and
they want JY there in Korea! In short, the Lord was doing something unique there at
Pattaya, Thailand.

My second session, the very last input for the Bishops, was about 'The Evangelization
Dimension'. I could get time to consolidate my thoughts from the first session. I had
only half an hour more there before I came away to Bangkok to be with my friend Elish
(to those who know Elish, our trainer behind JY skits, he is in a university in
Bangkok and he sends his regards to JY friends). But in that little time the Indian
Bishops gathered around me to ask about the possibility of more official approval from
the Bishops for JY. We were also discussing about our dream of something like a
regularised community for the rooted ones in JY with the knowledge and approval of the
Bishops.

I go back to Cochin tomorrow night. There is one more half day session for general
Jesus Youth here in Singapre till noon tomorrow.

Thanks once again for all your prayers.

Eddy/Cochin/India

[JOYnet] New Zealand Retreat

2002-11-30 Thread Sunny Thomas
Praise the Lord,

Thank you in Jesus name to all joynetters for interceding the New
Zealand retreat. Yesterday we had a 1-day retreat at wellington - the
capital of new zealand. Wellington is about an hour's drive from
Auckland. There were a lot of blocks against this event right from
the beginning. Initially when we talked about the possibilty of a
retreat to a friend of mine in wellington he said that there were
only few Catholics in Wellington and it may be difficult to organise
one. Fr.Thomas and me started praying about this and things started
moving. Our good lord had anointed the wellington ministry and in an
hours time we get a confirmation from my friend that the local praish
priest had graneted permission for the retreat .
Praise the Lord

Even when we reached the airport there were blocks. All the flights
to wellington for that day had been cancelled after we checked-in. We
cancelled the tickets and took the evening train to Wellington which
took us there the next day morning - praise the lord

There was very good anointing during and after the retreat both
physivcal and spiritual. A deaf person could hear after the healing
mass in the evening. Another lady who had severe back pain for a year
and a half was healed off her back pain. There were lot of spiritual
healing as well - A girl could see Jesus in a vision and many were
touched. They were all happy that this had happened and a new
awareness has been generated. One of the Kiwis mentioned that in the
past the Lord sent missionaries from the west to the east to spread
the Word of God and now the Lord we are getting it back.

We praise you and thank you Lord for your wonderful ways. Your ways
are always much much higher than ours Lord just like the sky is above
the earth. Teach us to be one with you in your Love and protect us
through your spirit. Thank you for your mercy on us Lord.

Blessed Virgin Mary , intercede for us and guide us to the Lord. Keep
your children in your care and you know what is best for your
children. Mother of the church and our own mother you know what is
best needed for our spiritual growth. Please pray for us till we all
reach your son Jesus on the last day .

We ask this in Jesus name
Sunny
