But I kept putting it off saying if the Lord wants me to improve my hearing He should either give me the money for a hearing-aid or heal me. Most of the time I missed the Word of God being proclaimed at Mass. But I found a solution for that by reading the Missal before going to church. In fact it turned out to be a much needed preparation for the Mass and I considered my partial deafness as a blessing indeed. After you touched my ears and prayed over me I felt a dull pain deep within my ear-drums and a warmth around my ears. As I walked back to my seat I realised with joy that I have experienced some healing. I then asked my wife to whisper in my ears any sweet nothing and I could hear her whereas in the past I would not be able to hear if she spoke to me softly in the church. So we went on with our experiment for a little while with joy and excitement. A friend of ours who was obviously watching all the carryings-on between us wondered what the matter was with both of us. Then when I stood up and gave testimony to my healing her curiosity was answered. Before the healing I could not even hear the alarm clock beside my bed even when I lie awake, and my wife has to drag herself over me to put it off.!! This morning I could hear it well as I was lying awake. Thank you Fr.Thomas for being an instrument of God for healing my partial deafness. As Jesus said to his apostles that they would perform even greater miracles, may the Lord bless your ministry and truly empower you to do greater works of mercy for His glory. We see some christian churches(other than the catholic church) steadily growing around the world simply bcos they go by the directions given by the Holy Spirit. 1. most of these so called christian churches started from the 16th centuary. where was the holy spirit before that ? 2. countless of these christian churches have come and gone. 3. I personally believe that these churches/evangelization work is driven by human intellect. 4. the catholic church began in ther UPPER ROOM and it still exists to this day and will forever praise GOD. 5. PLEASE let me know what you meant by(other than the catholic church).I love the chatholic Church with all my heart I love the pope, the bishops, every thing about the Catholic church. Jose Vaz was declared blessed by the pope in Sri Lanka some years back I dont Know the exact year ( someone from Sri Lanka and Goa please help me ). Fr. Jose Vaz is from Goa , he was a missionary in Sri Lanka till his death. with his good work and love he brought a lot of souls to Christ. With our prays he will be a saint soon. Dear JOYful netters, I do not know if you already know , the Indian parliament has passed an MTP (Medical Termination of Pregnancy) Bill yesterday , providing for rigorous imprisonment for a minimum of 2 years for terminating pregnancy at a Place not approved by the Government. Now ,what has this got to do with us ? If you remember it was some months back that 3 of our JYs Sunny chettan, Adv. Shiny and Alexy(Couple) who initiated this move ,by travelling throughout Kerala meeting with people-politicians,our Bishops and many high level authorities- telling them about the MTP's/Abortions taking place here and of the value of life. They had managed to bring it up in the Kerala assembly with the help of an MP from Kerala .Another person who took a keen interest in this is Fr.Panackal from Divine Retreat Centre,Muringoor. The trio had even been to delhi to meet the Politicians there. In the initial stages many had asked our prolifers - Will it really change things at the top - But then today the parliament having passed such a bill is a reminder to us that ..small beginnings will have greater ends as we keep pursuing goals that will build God's Kingdom. [JOYnet] Sharing Jesus-How sweet it is?
Dear all, Yesterday also I had a great experience. I was on my return Journey from Dubai to Jabel Dhana where I work. I was accompanied with one of my colleauge. As usual, I started chatting with him and turned the topic into Jesus. Initially he critized me regarding the Conversion to christianity. (He 'was' - really I mean it; now I feel WAS - a Hindu proline activist). During the 31/2 hrs journey we were continously talking regarding Jesus. Then I took the Trum Card - KERYGMA and gave it to him. My dear friends, I couldn't beleive, he stopped arguing and listened to me carefuly. At last we together prayed in the name of Jesus. Then, he - seems to be an introward, opened his heart infront of me. He shared me about his sufferings and other personal problems. I could feel Jesus Holy Sprit changing his mind in those 3 1/2 hrs. OK, you guys and gals may be thinking what is this KERYGMA. I'm preparing a small note on it and hopefully shall paste it on tommorrow. (Smitha Cuckoo may really annoyed and angry with me but forgive me in the name of Jesus. (It is also my style of evangilization to create curosity about Jesus in others heart so that they will grasp it easily - really funny na, ha ha ha)). Also as we are 1000+, if we are sharing Jesus to atleast 1 person a week how great it will be? And if it works, the title THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH' will be a reality. Dear Bros and Sis, I was no way trying to underline the importance of the catholic church when I posted this piece. My sincere apologies if I had confused you with my thought. I try my best to be a devout catholic and keep my catholic sacraments close to my heart. It is a delight for me to receive Jesus atleast twice a day through the Holy Communion. But at the same time I have personally experienced the power of the spirit of unity while praying with my brothers and sisters in other Christian denomination. Three years before when I was in Chennai we used to meet during our lunch breaks in a CSI church near my office. There were 2 catholics(I being one of them) , 2 protestants from the Jesus Calls ministry and a CSI girl. And I can personally testify the power of God in those prayer meetings. Two of these protestant boys fasted and bought the tickets for the Rex Band programme(which is hardcore catholic in nature , Praise God for that) sponsored and brought their Hindu friends to this programme. We see the best example of this lack of spirit of unity between catholics and protestants in Northern Ireland where neighbours kill each other just bcos he/she is a catholic / protestant. The devil is surely winning when the passion for your church turns into animosity and judging towards another church. Just imagine yourself in a VHP or Bajrang Dal stronghold in North India proclaiming the Word of God.. They will hit you not bcos you are a Catholic or a Protestant but bcos you are speaking the Good News of Lord Jesus Christ. I personally think we should appreciate and thank God for the catholic church and the immense power that we had inherited through its sacraments but at the same time we should look for the good things in other Christian denominations.
