As far as as can see, the jQuery Thickbox does everything the others
do. I use it here:

ImageBox looks nice.  Does anyone know if it is being actively taken  
care of?  The source code said it was written in 2006, and under Mac  
Firefox the image flashes right as it is being loaded.

did you try pulling the litebox code and demo page and running it  
with a more recent version of jquery.js? That Mac Firefox flicker  
looks familiar, and I think it was taken care of in an svn release  
within the last couple months.
