KR> Corvair Head
This is just a brief note to the net. My name is Paul and am working on a life long dream of a KR-2 here in Polk City, close to Lakeland, Fl. I have recently located a corvair engine but find one of the heads to be defective. Head number 3856743. Haven't had any luck on finding a replacement. So I turn to the folks on the net, to help in my search. I appreciate any leads someone may have. The net has been very informative, and I thank all who have shared ideas. Again Thanks, Paul

KR> KR-2 Center Spar Inspection
Hi KR'ers! I am in the process of picking up the construction efforts on a KR-2 I have inherited from my father in-law who has since passed. What I have established is he bought the plane in its construction phase from a previous builder. My question is I have a KR-2 fuselage sitting on RR landing gear with completed tail section, but looking through his paper work on the plane I see no log or paper work indicating a center spar inspection. Note the center spars were installed prior to him purchase the plane so I suspect he never received any indication of the center spar being inspected prior to webbing being installed.. Would appreciate any ideas what my next step would be to correct this over sight.. I really don't want to go in and tear things apart. Thanks! Paul, Lakeland, Florida
KR> KR-2 Front Wing Spar Lamination
Hello to all net members, I guess now it's my time to ask a question of the knowledge base out there. I have inherited a KR-2 and plan on taking it to flying status and my question is the canoe is completed. Wing stubs and landing gear are in place. 1) I am now looking at building the outer front and rear wing spars. Since I have been out of the building process for a while I am looking for recommendations as to what type of epoxy are suitable for laminating the forward spars... Guess I looking for what guys are using these days. 2) Second question is very interested in installing a corvair engine as the power plant and wondering where everyone is locating their engines - Haven't had any luck here so far... Any information will be appreciated and thanks for all the info on the net guys. Paul Lakeland, Florida
