KR>Tailwheel Size , and how do i post my kr on the kr site
Hello Everyone , I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas !! I am curious on the tailwheel size most kr2's are using . mine is very small 3" and gets hung up on the slightest crack , worst in grass ect . I want to go to an air tire approx 6'' . This will also give me a little visibilty infront of the craft . I,ve flown some taildraggers where you can actually see over the nose ,and I thought a little sight and better capability in grass would be nice . Also if anyone can tell me how to post my kr and pics ,info on the kr site .. KR>Tailwheel Size , and how do i post my kr on the kr site
Kevin, We also have a very small tailwheel, I think 3" also. My tailwheel on my first KR was about the same size and I never had a problem in grass, but did not land on grass very often. The KR site, I assume you mean KRNet.org, does not post pictures. You can send them to me and I will create a page for you like I have done for Colin Rainey and Scott Cable, on our site and give you, your personal address directly to your part of the site. If you want to mail the most pictures you can at one time, cut them to no more than 640 X 480. I will cut them to that size anyway to make them load faster when people are trying to view them. If you cannot do that, no worries, I will do it for you. In your e-mail, include the name of the picture, xxx_999.jpg, and the verbiage that you want to be associated with that picture. I will post them in the order that they are described, not the order in which they are named. See N64KR at http://KR-Builder.org - Then click on the pics Daniel R. I have a Matco 6" solid tailwheel that works well but wanted to trim 2 pounds off the tail and ordered a 4" solid tire, steerable, full swivel unit from Aviation Products Inc (805) 646-6042 114 Bryant St Ojai CA 93023 It is their lightweight single fork unit. The overall quality seems good but I am a bit disappointed in their bearings. The first time I tried it it seemed noisy. It seemed that one bearing was a bit rough. I sent the wheel back and they replaced the bearings. I put the unit back on the KR yesterday but have not had a chance to fly it. From my searchings I'd say that is about as close as you'll come to what you are looking for and keep the weight down. Larry Flesner Carterville, Illinois

KR>Tailwheel Size - Aviation Products Inc
I called them today. They do not have a web address, but are going to send me a catalog. I will scan in any pictures of tailwheels that even remotely seem as though they would be applicable to the KR and will put them on our site as soon as I get the catalog. They are apparantly not the same company as the previous web address was given for. See N64KR at http://KR-Builder.org - Then click on the pics Daniel R.
