[libreoffice-l10n] Akbot for Croatian
Hi, Some moths ago somebody asked if there are volunteers for moderating Aksbot in there own languages. I answered, got a account on Transifex and even translated Askbot. But thing is that I have no privileges to submit translations, only to suggest. Can somebody grant me permission to submit translations as I'm the only one who's doing translations for that? I would like to re-check (and improve) Aksbot translation. I would like to now is there any progress with that Askbot project. I apologize if I missed relevant mail on this subject but l10n has a quite a lot of traffic. Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Askbot for LibreOffice in your language
I'm willing to do it for Croatian - what should be my next move? Signup to Transifex and translate Askbot? Thanks, Kruno On 10/03/2013 10:27 AM, Olivier Hallot wrote: -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi Community (cross-posting on purpose) We are in position to deploy AskBot for LibreOffice (AB4LO) in many languages. Those individuals interested to moderate the Askbot for LibreOffice in his own language are invited to step forward. (We will not deploy an AB4LO instance without at least one moderator.) My experience as moderator for AB4LO in pt-BR is less than 5 minutes /day, and the rate of new questions is about 2 new question/days and 2 new answers/day. Your mileage may vary, depending on how active is your national/language community. As example, you can check the pt-BR site at http://ask.libreoffice.org/pt-br/questions/ Note: I had to complete the translation of the AB4LO web interface myself. I had to get a login in transifex and finish the job. Other languages are in incomplete state too. The list of available languages is at this link: https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/askbot/ You may coordinate with your translator to get it completed. Why AskBot ? * There were several demands to deploy means of community intercommunication other than mailing list. * To get help thru mailing list, the process is to subscribe/confirm subscription/write mail to ask/wait response/get flood of unwanted other messages/unsubscribe/confirm unsubscription. This is too much 1990'ish. * AB4LO allows you to quickly ask for help, and get responses from your community. Unlike forums, AB4LO is aimed to establish a knowledge base on LibreOffice in your language and provides tools to search for a given subject quickly. * AB4LO is not suited to debates and discussions. Prefer the mailing lists for that purpose. * Askbot also allows you to login thru your OpenId credentials, such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc... Chances are that your users will use it frequently. * You also don't get e-mails unless you ask for in your profile. *My experience with AB4LO in pt-BR* As I said, I get 5 minute work as moderator. Most of the job is to edit the question and put in a format of a question seeking answers. I also narrow the tags for a better search. Sometimes people put Basic code in the details and I care to have it well rendered with the internal AB4LO editor tool. I had to close some questions on subjects unrelated to LibreOffice. Almost no spam so far. Some answers had to be demoted to comment and some comments had to be promoted to answer. The kind of questions asked has a good indication on the difficulties users have with LO and tells a lot about the user and the community. As moderator, you are not obliged to answers users questions. We strongly advertize Askbot for LibreOffice in many of our local communications. So, what are you waiting for? Get AB4LO now!!! Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Understanding the hunspell
The second field in the header of a suffix class means only allowed combination with prefix flags (from a class with similar allowed prefix-suffix combination), so your first example will work (with syntax corrections) well: FLAG long SFX A1 Y 1 SFX A1 0 a . SFX A2 Y 1 SFX A2 0 e . Just to see if I got it right, hunspell will not try to combine suffixes (A1 + A2) but only add declared ones to a .dic entery. In example above, there is only one FLAG long, so it needs to be put only once in .aff file, before firs SFX? Only in space separated form, and in LibreOffice this is only for better suggestions. What about entery in .dic like (in one row): Word1/C2 Word2/C2 No, there is that autocorrect list in the file DocumentList.xml of acor_hr-HR.dat ZIP archive. Will find that, it's not in bundle I've downloaded... [libreoffice-l10n] Understanding the hunspell
Hi, I'm not sure if I'm doing it right by sending this mail do l10n, but hopping someone will point me to right direction. Even tried to subscribe to hunspell mailing list, but with no success. I've done reading Hunspell help/documentation pdf from the internet but still have few questions. From what stands in that document I can't be certain in some specific things which are actually very important when we talk about morphology of highly flective language like Croatian. Here we go: Let's say that .aff contain: FLAG long SFX Y A1 1 SFX Y 0 a . FLAG long SFX Y A2 1 SFX Y A2 0 e . Now, A1 and A2 needs to be applied to word jezik (eng. language). So if .dic file contain jezik/A1 I should expect forms like jezik and jezika. If .dic file contain entery like jezik/A2 expected forms are jezik, jezike, but if the entery is jezik/A1A2 I can expect forms like jezik, jezika, jezike, but will hunspell try to combine A1 and A2 together like jezikae or jezikea? Form jezikae and jezikea are not valid in Croatian. I know it can be prevented by doing FLAG long SFX Y A2 1 SFX Y A2 0 e [^a] but question is - will hunspell combine (aglutinate) suffixes if suffix statements doesn't prevent it explicitly (and allows it implicitly)? Wasn't able to solve this by reading the manual from http://hunspell.sourceforge.net nor by looking into other .aff files from git repository. Also if .dic file contains only form PDF will the word pdf in LO be underlined as misspelled? Can .dic file contain two words in one line? Further more - have trouble with understanding the REP section in .aff file. Can I do: REP 1 Plitvička_Jezera Plitvička_jezera will that automatically correct capital letter in word Jezera? I hope someone will give me a hand here... Encoding detection properties is set to Universal; there is bunch other languages but non of them is Croatian. When I open file in Kwrite some Croatian specific letters are presented wrong. [libreoffice-l10n] Askbot translation
Hi, not shure what to do with some Askbot strings: https://translations.documentfoundation.org/hr/askbot/translate.html#page=2 On Pootle string has tri boxes (for singular, dual and plural), but I'm not translating online, using Poedit. When download .po files, Poedit does not recognize all three forms, just two of them: Form 0 and Form 1. Since this is not a Poedit mailing list, I wonder why downloaded .po file has only msgstr[0] and msgstr[1] ? Can I manualy add msgstr[2] to a django.po file? Next what I need to know what is a purpose of d in %(max_tags)d? Should that be unchanged in translation or should be translated? Samo thing with s outside the brackets in %(tags)s (https://translations.documentfoundation.org/hr/askbot/translate.html#unit=41139275)... [libreoffice-l10n] Punctuation mark in some english strings
Hi, I think there are two bad english strings: https://translations.documentfoundation.org/hr/libo_ui/translate.html#filter=checks,endpuncunit=29766850 https://translations.documentfoundation.org/hr/libo_ui/translate.html#filter=checks,endpuncunit=29766694 Is there any reason for having dot in brackets and not on the end of line? Can we omit that dot in translation? Fedora 18, 64-bit. I took build files from http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/libreoffice.git/ and adapted by replacing translation files for my language with the fresh version. I can share the build script, but it is too simple. I have disabled the builds for now though, because I am not currently actively translating LibreOffice. PS: I also have tried to build LibreOffice for openSUSE using the Build Studio (at build.opensuse.org) but it takes like eternity to complete the build there. Hi, you mean, you want to test translations right away? I have asked similar question back in January, but what I ended up with, is that I've setup a nightly builds for the Linux distribution I use.
