OpenOffice Translation for Amharic language.

First of all I want to send a big hello to all the OpenOffice volunteers 
around the globe, my name is Samson and I'm from Ethiopia.
I want to apply for a Pootle account in order to be able to translate 
the available projects into Amharic language.
I state that my contributions are under the Apache 2 license and if 
is possible I want a username like: Samson.
I understand that a password will be created in a second more private 
step and that I have read the instructions:

Maybe a good time to work on updating the NL websites, as we wait for Pootle...

I mean, if we call for more volunteers for a language, it will work
best if we have a more experienced existing volunteer willing to help
coordinate the new volunteers.  And even if one person could do the
work, it is more sustainable if we have a 2 or 3 involved.  Otherwise
we risk having a language appear in on release, but not another
release, if the sole translator is busy with school, work, family,
etc.   It is almost impossible to have too much help.  Well, except
when Pootle is not working ;-)

If you need more help for an OpenOffice translation effort please let me know.

Although I can't help translate directly, I can help publicize the
need for specific volunteers via our Facebook page, Twitter feed,
mailing lists, website, etc.  This can be a great way to find other
volunteers willing to help out.   This works especially well if you
already have a volunteer willing to take the lead on coordinating the
translation effort.

Thank you, Antonio! There is one thing that you should do immediately or 
you will miss answers and announcements: subscribe to this mailing list; 
to do so, send an empty e-mail to l10n-subscr...@openoffice.apache.org 
and respond to the confirmation request you will receive.


We had a few volunteers who showed up for Portuguese PT but the only one 
who responded to my last call for updates is Paulo, in CC. Please try to 
coordinate with him, at least to make sure you are not duplicating work.


We have a translation deadline next week if you want the pt_PT version 
to be released in January. Everything is already available. Basically, 
you need the PO files for Portuguese which are available at
