[lace-chat] Teacher?
Good morning! I've met a lady in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area looking to maybe start making lace. Are there any teachers out that way that are interested? Get in touch with me privately and I will put you in touch with this woman. Re: [lace-chat] Teacher?
Strange how these things happen isn't it?? I'm a member of a completely different group on the internet (miniatures) and forwarded to them a link from Shirley in Oz which showed miniature lace. One of the group contacted me to say she'd been looking for a lace teacher in the same area and had got in contact with them!! Explaining to that group how I knew Shirley (2 different hobbies), another lady emailed to say she was also interested in the other hobby... just goes to prove how small the world is! [lace-chat] Agnes in Elloughton
Morning All Just to let you all know that Agnes fell yesterday and broke her left wrist (fortunately she is right-handed). She had it set late last night and is back at the fracture clinic today to have the pot put on. I'm sure she'll appreciate your best wishes. No lace-making for her for a few weeks. Regards Sue. And it will become even smaller in 2012 when we will be hosting the international convention for the amateur radio group 2012 YL International Meet and in 2014 when the international lace organisation OIDFA conducts their convention and meets here in beautiful downunder Adelaide, South Australia. Hope to meet up with lots of you then. Cheers, Shirley T. (VK5YL) - Adelaide, South Australia where there are signs that spring is in the air. Re: [lace-chat] Agnes in Elloughton
Sympathies to Agnes and hope she heals well and quickly. I broke a bone in one foot and sprained the other one 8 weeks ago and am just beginning to manage without the crutches (though still wearing this weird boot most of the time) and haven't had chance to make any lace in that time and am now chaffing at the bit to begin again. I did start winding bobbins the other evening ready to work one of my small pieces by special request of my Son, hopefully it will get me going again, though I will need to use the white tablemate rather than the pillow stand proper, because of my feet.I cant believe it is taking this long, but I have used the time reasonably well I suppose doing lots of knitting after many years gap. I know that lots of you have been on holiday or lace events, so I hope you are busy working and learning, interested to know what everyone current project is. Agnes, I hope you heal quickly and get back to your lace. This reminded me that Alex Stillwell also broke her left wrist at the IOLI convention in the first half hour of teaching last week. She was kept in hospital overnight but was back teaching the next day. What a trouper. Unfortunately I think she is left handed. I spoke to her last Friday and she seemed to be doing fine. Susie Johnson (Withof teacher) stepped in on Monday and taught two classes in the same room. She did great and was acknowledged by the hosts for stepping up and helping.
