RE: [leaf-user] IPSEC help needed....
There is no ipsec.o module in Dachstein for IPSEC. I have a pair of boxes with an IPSEC VPN between them on static ip's and its all in the configuration of IPSEC, that is the secret. Read the howto's and look at the freeswan site if its still around. We need a bit more than just "to get the work VPN software to work correctly". Are you setting up a subnet to subnet or single client to subnet? The howto's are out there, just look. Email the list again if you need more help. Okay, I had a friend help me out a bit, and it seems like the files from the clibc207 package are NOT being installed, although I have no idea why. I've tried to load the clibc207.lrp package as the first package, as the last package and at several intermediate points, and the files never show up in /lib. [leaf-user] isapnp problems.
I should preface this by saying that I'm a complete newbie to Linux, so I may be doing something boneheaded here, but I've done my best to find any online information on my problem and I'm stumped. I'm running LEAF on a old 486DX machine (GA-AM486AM/S w/ 120MHz Am486DX4-S and 32Mb RAM) and I'm using Bering-uClibc 2.0 (w/ uClibc-0.9.20). Up till now I've been using two NIC's, an ISA PnP 3Com 3C509B Etherlink III and a PCI RealTek RTL8139C Fast Ethernet Card. Both work fine. Now my problems: I've just installed a 3rd NIC. Its an ISA PnP Compex FL- 16PNP FreedomLine16 Rev. 2A, and I can't get Linux to recognize it. I've tried the card in a friends modern Mandrake (kernel 2.6) machine and it worked fine, and my old 486's PnP bios reports the existance of the card, so I know it works. (I wish I had thought to write down the io port and irq that Mandrake found it at -- but I didn't, and getting my friend to open his machine again would be a hassle). My Googling for the card and my problem turned up a few messages saying that they've gotten the card to work with the ne.o driver, so that's what I've been trying (using likely sounding io addresses like 0x300, 0x350, etc). I also discovered that the isapnp tools are recommened for diagnosing the exact sort of problem I seem to be having, but they haven't been ported from Bering to Bering-uClibc. As far as I can tell the clibc207.lrp package is intended for just this situation. So, I installed both packages and they are being loaded at boot time, but I find myself unable to run pnpdump. Any attempt to do so results in a message of "pnpdump: not found" despite it being in my /sbin directory and having the same execute permissions as most everything else in there. I can run other /sbin programs without difficulty, so I'm stumped. I have checked and the clibc207 package is being installed although I don't know enough to tell if its installed correctly and is being found. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should go from here and how I should proceed? Any hints on diagnosing ISA card troubles under Bering-uClibc would also be helpful. -- Stirling Westrup | Use of the Internet by this poster [EMAIL PROTECTED] | is not to be construed as a tacit | endorsement of Western Technological | Civilization or its appurtenances. --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
