2001-12-17 Thread Reginald R. Richardson

Max, it's easy..
Don't worry about the TZ file,

Just go to charles site, go to the TIMEZONE directory, and download the file
that is for your timezone, I do belive that would be "AMSTERDAM"

Go to your /etc map, and copy the AMSTERDAM file to "localtime" dus, over
writing the "localtime" file that already exist,

And that would do the trick

OK. I tried to install tz.lrp. First of all, the package has the wrong files
in /var/lib/lrpkg. These files are from keyboard.lrp. Second, after I
changed all that, and adding tz to syslinux.cfg, the package won't install
at boot. Same thing happened with a custom package I created yesterday. is
there a maximum amount of packages that will install ?

I'm guessing your Dachstein machine doesn't know what time zone it's
in. To set this you need to download the right file for your location from
somewhere like http://lrp.steinkuehler.net/files/kernels/zoneinfo/
rename it localtime and put it in /etc.

Have a look at http://c0wz.steinkuehler.net/dox/ntp.txt - there's
instructions about all this about 2/3 of the way down.

cheers

Julian

This link contains good timezone information, although much of it no
longer applies to Dachstein -- files mentioned early in the doc are
already uptodate . . .

Make sure that /etc/default/rcS is setup correctly.

Preferably, you need the correct /etc/localtime -- which is your correct
timezone? Do you have access to a Linux system?

In lieu of that, supposedly, you can set /etc/tzvalue -- I've never used
it ;>

Hope this helps . . .

Are you sure you don't have the wrong timezone set? You're probably
using it without Daylight savings time setup properly.

I *think* you need to edit /etc/TIMEZONE, but I haven't checked.

I run Dachstein 1.0.2 and the time is one hour earlier than it should be. How can I
change this ? I run 'rdate -p -s some.time.server && hwclock --systohc', but still one
hour earlier.
