RE: [leaf-user] Re: Question: (user's guide) 12. Monitoring Bering through a terminal console

No, it's not a bug, just a feature.

I use the serial connection myself, but I changed the baud rate to 57600.

Even with that speed I just cannot scrool fast enough. There is always
some lag, but it is bearable.

I understand that you only have that pb when using the editor (by the way
e3,
e3vi and ae are all linked to the same program ...)
I am forwarding your mail to the leaf-user list for assistance on this mater

since I never user serial connection myself
Any idea anyone ?

If there was a way to fix it (which I doubt there is), it would be a
setting with e3. It is just really slow because of the way it repaints
the screen. vim has no problems. There has to be some tradeoff with
size!

RE: [leaf-user] Re: Question: (user's guide) 12. Monitoring Bering through a terminal console

2002-09-12 Thread Ping Kwong

I run mine at 115200 with no noticeable help. I've just gotten used to
seeing it that way and learned to live with it. I first thought it was
just the baud rate but as I kept increasing it, didn't notice any
appreciable difference. It's especially bad when editing shorewall
files with the example lines since they take up virtually all of 80
characters across the screen.

Wow, why so slow??? Use 57600 instead.

Only e3 and e3-emulating editors are available stock. If you enter
"vi", e3 in vi-emulation should work. I haven't had this problem, but
I use a MUCH faster baud rate.

If linux isn't the answer, you've probably got the wrong question!

Good one Lynn,

Yup, that certainly helped if not fixed the situation. Looks like I just
needed a quicker baud.

Really appreciate it

Thanks everyone.

Kind regards,
