Thanks John. That is the way I am leaning with 7.5 hours to goIssues are:

   - We will literally be back in the states in 9 days. Will it all go tits-up
in that time? Even if we just got through the Fulham game that would be great.
   - It's Bielsa...may never get the chance to see this team again if he leaves
at the end of the season (stupid reason I know.)
   - I can get a whole row to myself on the plane!

Hard to know whether the UK is managing coronavirus properly - many differing
views too. In practical terms, there’s little/no impact on normality, until you
get near hospitals etc. I don’t particularly think it’s been badly managed in
the UK - YET. The emphasis for action is being put on the individual though,
which is very convenient! 10,000 undetected cases reportedly which are the
great unknown. The current advice seems to be that the UK numbers will peak in
3 months.

Sport looks likely to be impacted in a major way - the Olympiakos owner, who
also owns Forest, being diagnosed positive means the Championship has had
direct contact. Once footballers start being diagnosed as positive then who
knows what will happen. In Spain La Liga has been suspended, so it can’t be
long before this happens here, whether sporadically or across the board. If I
were you I wouldn’t risk coming, as you never know whether you’ll get ‘trapped’
here? Current thinking is large gatherings will continue in England as banning
them would not slow down the spread, but if there are transmissions which can
be attributed to watching footie then the situation will probably change.

We were due to go to Malaga & Seville at Easter, but that looks likely to bite
the dust. Bugger!

Re: [LU] Transfer talk

2020-03-12 Thread Jim Moran
Currently, nothing much, but expect rapid escalation over the weekend as
death toll and positive cases are about to take off at 33% a day like every
other country that's done nothing other than washing hands to try and stop
it.

Few of my clients have now banned visitors, a few are now sending staff
home to work, trains are quieter, pubs and restaurants are quieter, people
have panic bought toilet roll, soap, pasta and paracetamol, but weirdly not
beer or real food.

Suspect we'll be in a similar state to Italy in a couple of weeks, where
over 65's are not even being triaged because there aren't enough beds and
they are focusing on the younger, fitter, more likely to survive
pneumonia cases.

I reckon the league will be postponed shortly, because as soon as one
player gets it the whole squad will have to self isolate.

Re: [LU] Transfer talk

2020-03-12 Thread Nicholas Armit via Leedslist
Yeah that is the least of my concerns ...waiting on Boris to decide if games
are going to be behind closed doors or not. If yes then I am cancelling the
trip, if not then need to think about is it worth still coming as they may
change that decision at any time?
I would prefer they just postpone the games so I can just reschedule everything.
What's it like over there, are things shutting down or is it business as
normal? Don't want to come over to sit in an expensively rented holiday let for
a week with nothing to do
Nick

Hey Nick - you might have to change your plans, or certainly check with the
club, re watching the Under 23s at Thorp Arch. Thorp Arch is under a bit of a
lockdown re coronavirus, and I have lost track as to whether members of the
public are now allowed in. Cheers, John
