[LU] Glass half….full?

2013-01-25 Thread Chris Wright

Just a thought, but let's look at the situation facing the owners before
running them out of town.

A manager who is not, for a variety of reasons, going to get the club promoted
this season and who is contracted until end of season.

A squad that would with some exceptions, McCormack, Byram, Green, Diouf, Lees
be embarrassingly awful in the premiership.

A transfer window that is yielding very little in the way of good players for
long term signings

A disgruntled ex loanee who is stirring things in the press (dropped quite
rightly by Warnock after performances went form competent to dismal)

If it were me, I'd hang on to my money, sit this season out and go again in the
summer. New manager, (I'd be talking to Adkins right now), serious investment,
long term plan. None of these things can be delivered by Warnock - there is no
long term.

If we see nothing in the summer then frankly, we're doomed. Again.

[LU] Glass half..full?

2013-01-25 Thread Sutton / Smail
It's a lottery. managers (and some players) do well at one club and then
fail at another with no rhyme nor reason. Hopelessly unpredictable with form
guide the only thing to base appointments on.
I think Warnock is finished in most peoples' eyes. Strachan would have been
my choice but he's going to be wasted by Scotland.
I was originally happy with Warnock's appointment, but for whatever reasons,
it hasn't worked out. Next manager please.

I agree! Adkins in now! I know Huddersfield have money and they want him
but surely he would be tempted by Leeds. He could have half a season to
review things and start to build the club up properly.

Plus the transfer window isn't so important because the loan window opens in
feb so we can refresh the squad!

Each to their own where you draw your personal line in the sand, but after
many years of leaving the beach unmarked, mine is firmly drawn at the end of
this month. I simply cannot do one more "maybe next time". I don't need
them to win the league. I don't need them even to necessarily make the
playoffs, but unless I can detect some change of momentum in how this club
is being run by this time next week, then after over 40 years of active
support, they can go feck themselves!

I am in favour of giving a manger at least two years grace. But the club's
policy must be to bring on the youth. As they're all gambles anyway I'd go
along with Pierce & give him 3 years & wait. Even if we go down. I'd go all
out for youth development. I'm pretty sure it'd get the fans back too.

I guarantee Warnock came to Leeds for the money and couldn't give two
shits what happens here. His team selections and bizarre signings are
testament to that.

Get rid of the Leeds hating idiot and get someone in who is a proper
manager with no bloody agenda.
