Re: [LU] Milwall
Watching the highlights on TV the Rudy penalty looks even more certain. He was fouled and it was in the box - penalty. In my report I forgot about the Mowatt dive /penalty: after the great run and shot by Murphy the ball fell to Mowatt who ran into the box and pushed it past the defender and went down. It is hard even in slow motion to see if the defender trod on his foot or not, the defender did accuse Mowatt of diving straight away IF that is worth anything. So I am not sure if penalty or not but I have seen them given.Another point - the ref got his spray out at one point and the Millwall one man wall stepped a yard over it, the ref saw it and just moved him back - I was surprised it is not an immediate and compulsory booking Whatever your view of the game it is a great result and will go a long way to keeping us safe even with some very hard games coming up. It also gives us some hope for next year, if we can keep the young spine of the team, Taylor, Mowatt, Cook, Byram, Murphy (yes Murphy) together and make a few additions we could just be on the verge of something good and something we can be proud of Dave ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org John 'Grampa' Sykes Rest In Peace old lad 28th Oct 1938 - 12 Nov 2013 MARCHING ON TOGETHER

More in line with me then Nick, I like your description 'bitty messy football'. Sums it up perfectly. But hey a win is a win. Holloway blames the Police for the low Millwall attendance; http://bit.ly/1AodLxq 12th now apparently. I just want a few more wins to ensure we don't get relegated. I don't think we are a good team ... But we are young and hopefully will improve with a few more wins / goals. Yea, It's easy to forget how young the team actually is, and would have been even younger if Cooper had been fit. Cook only turned 18 ten days ago. I was in the West Ridings a bit early today (11.30) and whilst it was empty last week v Brentford today by 12 it was 3 or 4 deep at the bar. Full of young wannabes - all in black anoraks with Burberry scarves etc , not sure what they thought would happen with 170 Millwall and how much 'action' they expected. Even odder there were quite a few older heads with them - reminded us of the Dick Emery skinheads and the 'I think I got it wrong again Dad' sketches. Whatever a good result and (I thought) a good performance that all but makes us safe - on a side note I had my first bet for over 20years today when I put £5 on Morison getting the first goal , I will not be doing that again !! I thought we started really brightly shooting towards the Kop, with Byram, Cook, Taylor and especially Mowatt all looking lively and we created one or two decent the hearest coming from a great move which Byram side footed just past the post. Never said I wasn't happy, I love the young Leeds players - Mowatt, Cook and Byram. I was just commenting on the 90 minutes of football and to watch I found it incredibly frustrating at times. We had 3 shots on target all game, one went in, the other was Rudy's ridiculous flying volley and the other a decent long range effort from Murphy which was comfortably saved. Apart from that it was poor finishing and mistake after mistake. Fair enough Dave. Opinions and all that. I thought first 10 mins and last 10 of first half were ok, actually pretty decent but the remaining 70 was just mistake after mistake. Good win, but pretty poor I thought. I think even Noel Whelan admitted at times we made hard work against a poor Millwall side. I mean even Town ruined them with 10 men so we shouldn't carried away with a 1-0 win against them. Antenucci - 5 looked lively but messed up the 2 best chances of the game.
