My guess is - No hole drilled thru the golf balls.   My guess is the top & bottom are "superglued" to the ball or there are two holes drilled into - not through - the ball: one at the "North Pole" and the other at the "South Pole and the pieces of wood have a screw on their underside and they are screwed (and glued?) into those two holes.Mac-Original Message-

If you have not watched his videos - go check them out. (Link is still below -

Like I said earlier, he is quite "laid back"/easy going. I don't think
"stress" did him in.

I suspect it was a combination of:

All the sawdust he breathed in over his many years of woodworking.

All the wood finishing products and related chemicals he encountered (touched &
breathed) over his many years.

I have heard that he was a fairly heavy smoker - which is certainly not good
for you.

Enjoy his videos while you can. I'm not sure how long youtube leaves them up
after the person that made them passes away.

Does anyone know?

Mac

For those in our Group that either knew, took classes from, or watched any of
his MANY youtube woodworking-related videos, I am sorry to let you know that he
passed away yesterday evening, 21 December.

Here is a link to his youtube home page: Charles Neil -
 "Woodworker"

Friends have posted announcements on his Facebook page and Lumberjocks if you
subscribe to or visit them.

Charles was a very likeable, easy-going, wealth of woodworking knowledge & know
how - that he enjoyed sharing.

Several members of our local woodworkers' Guild have taken classes from him at
his facility in northern Virginia (near Harrisonburg, VA) and spoke highly of
him. He will be missed greatly.

Charles, Rest in Peace, our friend!

The Legacy (LOM) Is a very neat machine, For the last few year. ;-P (Most of my

48", So I made it 60" long. always looking to make bigger things, Over the last
year, I started looking at making smaller/finer detail items. more on the
Ornamental turning side of things, I started playing with materials that I had
not thought of in the past. Things like bone, leather, and horn (to name a
few.) I found out that the Legacy can cut these materials very easily, with
clean sharp detail that I had not been able to get on my Lathe alone.

I have New ideas and concepts that I would like to explore in the future.( this

Re: Christmas turning projects.

2019-12-22 Thread 'Curt George' via Legacy Ornamental Mills
Hello ArkadyMerry Christmas to you.Thank you for your reply. The Legacy (LOM)
Is a very neat machine, For the last few year. ;-P (Most of my life time.) I
always thought , "Bigger is better".  My Legacy was made to turn 48", So I made
it 60" long. always looking to make bigger things, Over the last year, I
started looking at making smaller/finer detail items. more on the Ornamental
turning side of things, I started playing with materials that I had not thought
of in the past.  Things like bone, leather, and horn (to name a few.)  I found
out that the Legacy can cut these materials very easily, with clean sharp
detail that I had not been able to get on my Lathe alone.
I have New ideas and concepts that I would like to explore in the future.( this
next year) And I am looking forward to sharing and learning, how to get the
most out of my Legacy, with our group.Have a Very Merry Christmas to everyone.
