Good evening,

Well I thought it was time to turn something of use again so I had a shoe horn
kit that has been sitting in my "Kits" drawer long enough.

So I turned this on my REVO.

6 start 3/8 pitch spiral. about 9.5 inches long.

Species, honestly I have to look it up, so stay tuned. No its not cherry
either.

Fun little project that will serve me well.

Tim,

Very nice - thanks for sharing.
The pics are low res. - so a bit difficult deciding the wood type. But a
couple guesses are:
Peruvian Walnut?
Paduk?
Cumaru?

Cheers!

Hey ya'll, I've decided to sell my LOM 1200 as it is taking up a lot of
valuable real estate in my small shop.

I first got it in about February 2022. It had never been assembled and was in
original boxes. I assembled it in about October 2022 and have used it a few
times, flattening some small slabs, making some spindles and rolling pins, and
that's about it. It is simply not getting enough use for my small shop.

Here's a link to a few photos: https://imgur.com/a/LIXn5fs

Here's a general list of everything it comes with, plus more:

· drive gears

o    standard duplex gear

o    0.25 duplex gear

o    2X Duplex gear

· Index Gears

o    Standard gear

o    2x index gear

· Rotary Indexing Table

· Rotary Indexing Shaft

· Standard carrier tray

· Z-Axis Carriage Assembly

· X-axis Drive Shaft Handle

· Spindle Shaft Handle

· Headstock Drive Center

· Mounting Hubs x 4

· Dust Control Bag

· Right and left-hand spiral drive gears

· double-locking collar

· split nuts x 2

· bag of spare parts – L1200

· Support plates for raising up and down - (supposed to be 2 sets of
each – screw support plate and threaded nut plate, but mine came with 3 support
plates and only 1 threaded nut plate. I planned to make out of HDPE but haven’t
gotten to it. I’ll throw in The ACME 5/8-4 right-hand thread tap I already got
for this $30 value).

· Router bits – 18, most never used, can provide list.

· Porter Cable 3 ¼ HP Router

The part names are all from the manual available on Legacy Woodworking website:

https://drive.google.com/a/legacywoodworking.com/file/d/1M2eAZDsFz8JK70famI7Ozs_5iSjghKy5/view?usp=drivesdk,

you want.

Price: $1000+shipping (or come pick it up)

If you're interested or have additional questions/need additional pictures, let

it if you want it.

Thank you.

Here are some more photo's  (the parts that you can not see while on the
machine, and a little bit more on how it works.

The 5/16" ball bearing set make this setup work nicely, The gear/indexing
plate, turns easily with the screw holding it onto the headstock due to this
bearing.

The gear/ plastic gear (or gears,)( I've made three different sized gears that
will fit onto this set.) are held onto the indexing gear/plate.

The ratchet controls the movement of the gears.

The stops/bolts are set to limit the ratchets movement.

The ratcheting index can be removed by removing the bolt holding onto the cross
arm (the bar with all the holes) can be seen in photo #2.

This set-up can be used on either my Legacy 1000 or the 200.

According to the books that I've read (Holzapfel Practical turning book/
Geometric Slide Rest. ) The best shape to use are. circle, Oval, triangle, and
Hart shaped rosettes .

Now things that I've learned by trial and error. the Legacy cuts form the top,
most OT equipment cuts form the side. The big difference is the under cutting
of the wood between the cutting processes.

A 3" rosette only makes appx. 1/4" off-set so 4,5&6" rosettes are what Im
looking at for possible designs. The more complex rosettes do not offer much
contrast.

Here is a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCO3aJ4gM6w=303s this process
is being used in fames. 3;00-4;16

There will be more info. latter.

Have a Great day everyone.

Hello Everyone.

I Know most of you will not think much of this ,Since it is not a Legacy made
tool.

But I for one am Extinctic about this new Toy that I've made for my Ornamental
Mill.

This jig is for making designs that are more OT looking. I can use a number of
different rosettes (round templates) to make a number of different patterns.
This is just a newer mod to what I used in this video 2 years ago.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5_TLeQQXeY

Now the indexing part.

In the past I removed a screw and counted holes in the indexing plate to get my
indexing. This jig, Makes the counting of hole obsolete (for the most part.)
by setting the bolts on the slide, I can make the indexing much quicker and
more accurate then what I could do with counting holes.

I still need to count the holes and use the pin when setting up this jig, but
once set up, the pin will be used for a lock while cutting, and by using the
bolt/limit I can control the indexing of the part by using the ratchet.

If all goes well, this jig, should help me do some pretty neat things in the
future. ;-)

Talk to you all more latter.

Have a good day.
