2012-02-14 Thread curt george

Hello
Carl I am sorry to hear of your problems with shipping and Legacy's customer
service.
In most jobs that I have done, sometimes you need to look outside the
box.(so to speak) There is almost always more than one way to skin a
cat.(again just an expression.)
What was the job pending? could you have done something different to keep
the job?
I mean Pillaster dogs are neat, but wasn't there another way to get the job
done with out having to wait on Legacy?

It is "A"shame that they treaded you like that. I was taught that honesty is
always the best policy.someone should have been up front with you about
possible back order problem and time that would be needed to expect the
parts in question.

Hopefully this will not happen again in the future?
good luck and have a good night.

Hello Carl,

Sorry to hear that you're losing a job. I'm not looking to sell my
hubs, but which size did you need for your custom job and when must
they be to you? Perhaps I can get them to you in time and you can
send them back to me when your job is complete.

Re: Legacy parts ordering

2012-02-14 Thread Tim Krause
Here's some details:

Specs:

Pitches included in the set:

Group1: 1.5, 1.875, 2, 2.25, 2.5, 3, 3.75, 4.5, 5, 5.625, 6, 7.5 inches per
rotation

Group 2: 6, 7.5, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, 18, 20, 22.5, 24, 30 inches per rotation

Group 3: 24, 30, 32, 36, 40, 48, 60, 72, 80 90, 96, 120 inches per rotation

Now, why anyone would need the longer pitches in group 3 seems a little
strange to me. This gear set was originally designed for the 2000 and 2200
machines. That's why it is made from heavier stock. A long time ago I
mocked up a poor man's multiplier gear. I took a couple of stock gears and
coupled them. I then made a small bracket that mounted to the swing arm
between the leadscrew gear and the standard duplex gear. I could easily
multiple the pitch. Going the other direction was another story. At the
time I played with that idea I did not have the manufacturing capabilities
that I have today. I just might have to revisit the idea.
