2022-12-16 Thread Eric Gantner
Good Evening Folks, I ran into a Legacy 900 for $500 in California, with shipping to Florida total cost comes to $1140.  I still work everyday but love WoodTurning when I get the opportunity along playing with my laser and wood CNC.  The Legacy seems interesting but there is not much information out there, very little photos.  Any thoughts whether it’s a good deal and if it’s something an amateur woodworker could use.  I want to use it for putting character, flute designs on vases and such.  Any input would be greatly appreciated! EricSent from my iPadOn Dec 14, 2022, at 12:00 AM, 'Curt George' via Legacy Ornamental Mills wrote:

Re: Woodmizer has gotten into the lathe making business

2022-12-13 Thread Jeff Richmond
Yes, these are interesting and have been around for a while now and have a 4’ extension available.I almost purchased a used one last year to attach to my other brand sawmill but it was still quite pricey and the finish is pretty rough.Jeff from Connecticut Sent from my iPhoneOn Dec 13, 2022, at 12:06 PM, Okla Mike (Liltwisted) wrote:

I think their market is always going to be the
lumber milling into boards.  They better be careful they don't
pollute their market and cause business failure.  Just seems
like a desperate move to me.

Not quite a legacy machine but it can turn your own large
posts. Make them round or up to 8 sided. They just need to
replace the band cutting head with a large router. Kinda cool.

Re: Woodmizer has gotten into the lathe making business

2022-12-13 Thread Tim Ziegler
Thanks Mike,

Makes me wish I'd kept my WoodMizer lol.
Pretty impressive design though. They have moulders, too, so why not a
routery mill too right.

Kind Regards,
