Dede,

That is a really useful suggestion. I have been mining birth,
marriage, death and census data, etc. from Ancestry.com for six
years. I discovered I could copy text from Ancestry.com and paste
directly into Legacy for individual fields and master sources, and
forgot all about the "Printer Friendly" printout. I have not yet
tried the new source templates in Legacy 7. Now, faced with the
daunting task of reworking sources, it is a comforting thought to
have a paper printout from Ancestry.com to refer to while trying to
find appropriate templates in Legacy 7.

Thanks,

Ronald,

This may or may not help, but Ancestry.com gives very good source
information along with the records. If you like, you can choose
"Printer Friendly" from the result window, then print the search
result you're going to use, along with the source information. Having
this in front of you while you work with the various templates may
give you a good idea of which template will produce the best result
for the source you're using.

I think it would depend on whether the record you found was an image of the
actual record or a transcription. BTW, if it is a transcription, I would try
to get a copy of the original. Along with confirming the accuracy of the
transcription, there may be additional information that was not transcribed.

RE: [LegacyUG] Marriage Source V7

2008-07-10 Thread Eileen
Ronald,

there are so many choices that you really have to look all of them over very
closely. This one:Marriage Records > Found in Governmental Records >
Marriage Certificate > Country > Created at local/county level, this Online
image that was sent is good, but it does not ask the state question, you
might need state, county, local level and then Internet

Could this be the one, but in the next group that shows you download an
Orginal image from the Internet,

so I think it's a matter of choice in words.
