Did it hit the airways about the same time as Legacy Charting? I'm
excited myself as I thought it (the built-in maps) was the most
attractive (only attractive) feature in FTM 2008. It would have been an
extremely hard compromise to switch gears to over there just for that.
Needless to say, I'm still over here.

Actually I didn't miss that. I was disappointed to see that it was
going to be Microsoft but I understand that all of us are going to
prefer something different, and naturally we can't all be satisfied.

I still personally prefer Google and their web mapping service, but
we'll see. Maybe it'll work out okay.

RE: [LegacyUG] Master Location List Internet Map

2008-03-17 Thread John Carter
Depends on where you are and how you use the maps.

If you're in the US and want to find a street less than 5 years old,
Google (first) and MapQuest (second) are the best choices. Yahoo and
MapsOnUs have a lot of maps, but do not update US maps as often as Google
or MapQuest.

MapsOnUs gives better directions than Yahoo in some areas - they are less
likely than Yahoo to send someone 10 miles out of the way when giving
directions to my house.

John

Hi Ron
MapQuest is working fine when you enter lat/lon - it just seems that
the 'interface' between the two has stopped working for some reason

 Jan,

I don't use this facility but if the co-ordinates are getting through OK then
this would suggest the problem is with Map Quest. Have you tried putting them
 manually into Map Quest?
