Re: [LegacyUG] Strange thing after updating
Thank you, Brian. That did the trick. Ed On Friday, November 20, 2015 9:23 AM, Brian/Supportwrote: While adding information to her you probably clicked on the gender to change her to male. Open her up again and look for the M F ? to the right of the Title Suf. entry box. If a person is not married you can make a check mark in any one of the three at any time. Once they are married you have to use Edit > Swap Husband and Wife to change gender. [LegacyUG] Legacy 8 and Windows 10
I recently bought a new laptop, with a Windows 10OS. Rather frequently Legacy freezes Sometimes I have to go to Task Manager to close it and then I can't open it again. I have to restart Windows, which is a nuisance, to say the least. I go thru the File Maintenance routine about once a day. Is anyone else having similar problems? Any ideas on how to avoid all this? I have Version 8.0.0.524, build date 23 Oct 2015. I thouGht I would check to see if I have the latest version. Legacy Help says "The current Legacy version is displayed. If a newer version is available, it is also shown along with a *Download Now!* link that you can use to download the newest update. To manually check for updates, click on the title of the updates section and then choose *Check for Updates* on the *Update* screen." I suppose I am obtuse but I can't find an updates section. Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy 8 and Windows 10
Hi Pat, You are running the latest version. See https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6687751/Legacy%20Notes/build%20524%2078.png for a picture of where you are being directed on the Legacy Home Tab. There's an article on the Legacy website on Legacy freezing. http://support.legacyfamilytree.com/article/AA-00513/11/Error-Messages-Problems/Legacy-Freezes-or-Hangs.html The first advice is to reset your options to default and then re-choose your specific options. Make sure you particularly check Options - Customise 1.2 and 6.1 and 6.2 and reset 6.3 I wonder whether the update means that particularly locations are a little different? I haven't gone to 10 yet so I don't know. Re not being able to open it again. I wonder if the shortcuts need to be redone - or, if it's pinned to the Taskbar, you need to unpin it and pin it again?
