[LegacyUG] Report on age at death
I am trying to create a report for export on tag 1 people of their age at death and death cause. I don't seem to be able to have just tag 1 people. Can anyone help please? I have got the smaller file (I hope) but there is no split in the main file, everyone is still there! I want a complete split. Any help appreciated. I know it is possible to create your own timeline but is it possible to edit those provided? Edward V came to the throne in 1910 and died 1936. It was his son Edward V!!! that abdicated! RE: [LegacyUG] Bold lettering
No that is not what I meant. I found out about those things. But my real query is why I have more than the direct line children bolded. Take one family. John and Anne Anderson have 10 children, Harry number 10 is the direct line and is bolded. But John number 2 and Anne number 8 are also bold whether I have 1 column 2 columns or three columns. Only in list view is Harry the only one bolded. I don't seem to be able to change this and it happens all through even if only 2 children number 2 is bolded even if not the direct line and it happens on both sides of the family. RE: [LegacyUG] Bold lettering
No it is all families even with nobody direct line. Set on best fit, if it is 5 lines in a column, 3 and 8 are highlighted, if 6 in a column 2, 8 and 13 are highlighted. 2 is highlighted even if there are 3 or 4 only. It only seems to have occurred this last few months. In list view all is well. In fact playing with it I have discovered list view which is good if only I could resize the various parts of the view. I have my direct line set as bold; no problem, but on the family view depending on the number of children numbers 3, 8, and 13 are also bolded. What is going on here and how can I change it please? [LegacyUG] Back up
I have tried looking at help but am not very into computer workings so am begging help. When I back up I do it to a couple of usb hard disks. I found when trying to find a copy from data that I also have to back up to the legacy data folder. If I close my file and reopen all the data is there so why isn't it already in the data folder? From that does windows 8.1 back up in file history automatically when backing up the documents folder? [LegacyUG] Occupations and residences
My father moved, with us his family, almost yearly from farm to farm working as a labourer. I don't want to make too long a list under facts. So do I add a residence or occupation event or maybe make a combined event which would make rather a long title. I am thinking about the chronology list which I love. Any thoughts? RE: [LegacyUG] Quarter dates
The Quarter days are 25 March, 24 June, 29 Sept, 25 Dec. They can be remembered by 5 letters March, 4 June, 9 September and Xmas Day. Rents are still paid on Quarter days--- I have to send out invoices! Historically these are the days on which many accounts had to be settled, especially anything relating to land, property and government administration. The actual day being the last day of each quarter - the first quarter day being 31 March in each year. Since you alluded to it -- was 31 March the quarter day when the year began 25 Mar? Because my logic suggests quarter day then would have been 26 June, which would explain a few puzzles. I ask primarily because I once ran across some Quaker MM records that counted months from the date of the MM's founding, not from the calendar (i.e., the first month was July or September, not January or March), which was massively misleading when one tried to match with non-Quaker records from the area!
