[LegacyUG] [Off-Topic] Warrnambool Cemetery online date (Victoria, Australia)

2019-06-05 Thread Ian Thomas
Perhaps of interest to some Legacy users who are researching Australian
relatives?
I became aware only yesterday that Warrnambool Cemetery has had online burial
data (no photographs) since 2018. There are 28,000 graves and a useful
downloadable map
https://warrnamboolcemetery.com.au/

The site looks nice, is easy to read and search. But not great if you are a
data collector.

Re: [LegacyUG] OFF TOPIC Ancestry problem

2016-04-01 Thread Cathy Pinner

Rune,

Ancestry and Legacy are not related.

The exception is that Legacy can set up an Ancestry search for you.
(Internet - Search Internet)
Is that what you are using? If so, you need to have an Ancestry
subscription and be signed in to Ancestry in your browser for it to work.

Ancestry is a pay website.

If you are a member of the LDS church/Mormon, I think you can get free
access.
Otherwise the only free access to Ancestry is at a library with a
library subscription.

I do limit the search to the appropriate country (USA in this example),

 Does anyone use it?

Does it add to your research or does it just make more work?

Do you find Legacy adequate for keeping track of your research?

Linking is only part of it. It also becomes a research assistant when

RE: [LegacyUG] Off topic - Clooz

2012-09-10 Thread Denise Moss-Fritch
Jackie, the ‘simple’ answer is no. The capabilities and ‘purpose’ of Legacy and
Clooz is different. When Liz originally designed Clooz, the software was for
‘electronic storage’ of documents and images. The latest version of Clooz, and
the direction it is heading, is toward a research tool (analysis of documents
and images, with the results in reports) with new data exporting back to the
user’s genealogy database.

Sherry,

Robert was not talking about the Legacy Family Tree PAGE on facebook.
Rather he is talking about the Legacy 7.0 Family Tree GROUP on facebook.
It can be found at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=23021903897 . The
contact info shown is Legacy and the group admin is Linda Robins from Dallas
TX who is the creator of the group. Not sure if this is ran by Legacy
Family Tree or not due to the contact info shown. However, I would think
the admin will handle notifying the group when the replacement group is in
place and can be joined.

 Sherry,
Robert was not talking about the Legacy Family Tree PAGE on facebook.

Are you sure you were on the right page? There are other pages with
 the name Legacy Family Tree

Our page is at http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree?sk=wall and I
don't see anything about archiving there.

2011-08-10 Thread Robert E. Carneal
*I *thought* the one I referred to was set up by Millennia. I didn't realize
there was another site. Apologies to Sherry, and thanks for everyone else
for helping me out. I will join the official one right now.

Thank you.
