RE: [LegacyUG] New Member

2016-01-11 Thread Dan Gallagher
Thanks Brian. I did discover that the Event pictures were showing up, so I'll
try that. I think it will just take experimenting with the various web formats
compared to the fields to decide what kind of info to put into which fields. I
find that I can easily add additional html to the individual's files, but that
will become cumbersome when updating the whole site.

A common work-around for the lack of marriage pictures and the fact that only
one picture is included for a person is to create individual events to which
you attach more pictures and to create events for the marriage and attach a
picture those. Legacy will include individual and marriage event pictures in
Web pages along with the event(s).

Re: [LegacyUG] New Member

2016-01-09 Thread Cathy Pinner
Hi Dan,

I don't use webpage generation much but just checked this out.
There is a bug if there is a Private event (certainly Private master
event and I think any Private event). No other events beyond that
Private Event are being included. Try reordering the Private event(s) to
the bottom of the list of events.
Also, pictures attached to the actual Marriage aren't included. I don't
know why they aren't on webpages. They aren't included in Reports
because of the spacing issues. There is a suggestion logged to include them.

They are the first certificate in the gallery.

Ron,

All mine are JPGs, however you are not helping me to help you to work
through the problem by not telling me what you have at the present time,
and, as I mentioned before, it would be helpful if you confirmed that all
your certificate images are the first image in the Individual's Picture
Gallery. I still do not understand why you would want them in your chart,
when they cannot be read from there.

Ron,

I understood from your first post that the problem seems to be that Charting
is not recognising the image. There are usually one of three reasons for
this a) It is not where Charting thinks it is b) it is not what Charting
thinks it is eg a BMD image with a JPG extension or c) the image is corrupt.

You do not say whether you have checked, as I suggested.

Re: [LegacyUG] new member

2010-09-01 Thread Ron Ferguson

They are .jpg images Ron.

It looks like there is something in the box on the chart as it has a line down
it separating the pic from data but can't see anything.

Ron,

Have you checked the picture extension? Legacy favours .jpg - it does not
like .jpeg, and other extensions are known to cause problems. GIFs are
generally OK, but note that for websites Legacy isists on changing them to
JPGs - yet another problems which has been well reported!

You might also like to try opening the two images in Irfan View, this will
a) tell you whether the are good images and b) that the extensions are
actually those which the images have been given.
