Re: [LegacyUG] Problem going from family View to Name List - can't have one without the other

2013-02-08 Thread Richard Van Wasshnova
Is this deja vu? This problem exists only when Include Married Names
is ticked exclusively. If Include Alternate Names' is also ticked
there is no problem. Problem also exists for same individuals when
only Alternate is selected so solution is you can't have one
without the other.
This problem was discussed years ago though I can't find it in
archives. Don't recall the solution then.

 Is this you problem?

When I am in family view with Jane Doe highlighted and click on the
NAME LIST icon it takes me to Name List sorted by either # (RIN) or
Given or Surname, depending on whichever box was preselected, and it
takes me to middle of the list to Jane Doe.

My problem is that for maybe 20% of people it takes me to the top of
the list. For Surname it starts with blank surnames and I need to
scroll down to Doe. The problem Individuals go to top of list for both
Given and Surname but if # is preselected it works properly. If the
person is selected with # and then I click on either Given or Surname
it jumps to top of list.

I had this same problem years ago and it was discussed on this list
but I don't recall a solution other than export to Legacy file and
 re-import which I don't care to do.

RE: [LegacyUG] Problem going from family View to Name List

2013-02-07 Thread Jack Earnshaw
Yes Richard. It happens with me as well. And seems to be happening more and
more. So possibly it is something that I am adding that is causing the problem
to worsen.

I hadn't previously noticed that having RIN as the order for Name List yielded
the right result but I've just tested it and I get the first person on the list
for both first name and surname ordering, but the correct person is
highlighted if I choose Rin as the order of the list.

I'm sure I reported it a couple of years ago, but can't remember the response
now.

Jack
