Thanks for additional testing and information
In LO printing performs via exporting to pdf.
Try workarounds from bug 44664. May be it will help.

> this shows up in Calligra-word and Abiword too
Therefore problem may be not LO specific. May be problem in some system
library. Try some another Linux distro if available.

In .docx and .doc there is the same problem - only 3 pages shown, word count

.doc - 40826 words

Import of .doc file is extremely slow, .docx opens very fast.

Create two sections with complimentary conditions to hide them so that their
visibility toggles on the condition. Everything appears correctly on the
screen. However, either printing or exporting the document resets the test
somehow and all sections, including the hidden one, are printed, exported as
pdf, and subsequently shown on the screen. Consequently, for any output,
hidden sections seem useless.

Attached is a document with screenshots showing the current state of the

'experimental features' is activated, and after it is enabled.

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Help
2. Go to macros;recording

Current behavior:
There is no mention of how to show the 'Record Macro' option under the menu
Tools --> Macros. Searching the net shows that when 'Enable Experimental
Features' is not chosen in the LibreOffice General Options then the option to
record macros does not appear.

Expected behavior:
Mention that if the record macro does not appear that it is necessary to
manually enable it. Suggested language for after the Limitations paragraph:

Note:
If the Record Macro is not visible or greyed out under Tools – Macros you will
need to enable it in LibreOffice Options
 - Choose Tools – Options to open the LibreOffice Optinos dialog window
 - Navigate to LibreOffice – General and check the 'Enable experimental

Charts anchored to cell are at top left corner of sheet when document opened,
charts anchored to Page keep their correct place

NOT reproducible with "LibreOffice 3.6.1.2 German UI/ German Locale
[Build-ID: e29a214] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit), I see 4 charts below

There also are problems with editing documents with charts with a.m. 3.6.2.0+,
when I had moved some charts, closed and reopened 2 charts were missing, but I
did not test that systematically.

I did not yet test what happens when save with 3.6.2.0+ and reopen with 3.6.1

Perhaps, but by itself that change does not help.

I tried various ways in hitTestRunner() to figure out if the recursion is going
to be infinite, but without success. Of course, I have no clue what this code
actually is doing... but clearly in some way it thinks that it is recursing
down into children but in fact it isn't, it's all the time staying at the same
"level". Or something. Sigh.

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.1.2 release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Created attachment 66884
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=66884
Try to create a report with the table inside this database. Group by class.

When creating report with wizard to create report and choose a group in a
report LO crashes immediately.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Use wizard to create report
2. Choose the options you like, especially "Grouping", the third step.
3. Press finish, and then libreoffice crashes.

Current behavior: crashes libreoffice

Expected behavior: create report

Note: There has been a bug
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43430

This former bug reported crashing of the report-builder every time. This
behaviour has gone. Difference between the bugs is the choosing of a group.

First, I checked it on Libre 3.6.1.2 on Ubuntu 12.10 Beta 1 - and it seems to
be ok!! I'm quite shocked.. :)
Second, if you want to be sure you have the "david" font - you can install
ttf-mscorefonts-installer in Ubuntu, alongside the "culmus" package - and there
you have it.

Just make sure you mark the fonts, and change it to 'David' manually (because
it'll autocomplete to 'David CLM')

After scrolling back and forth, it seems to work (with a bit of roughness/lag
on the edges/page borders), yet I'm glad to see this solved.

thanks again!

Window and GTK+ themes can be terrible for writer and calc. For instance, some
dark themes give writer and calc awful contrasts when people might generally be
expecting the 'paper' in writer or the 'sheet' in calc to be white (with black
text) no matter what the GTK+ theme is. An option to ignore the theme and give
the programs a default look would be helpful.

Well I opened that file and I'm not seeing any problem with scrolling at all.
I'm running Version 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 711958d). Going to move back to
NEEDINFO, try to back up your user folder and delete it and then open up the
file, see if it's a user config issue. If it's not, please reopen this one and
put your version of LibO. Thanks for sticking with this, we'll try to diagnose
the problem :)

- open https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=48323 with LO 3.6.1 : you
can see several charts
- opens the same file with LO 3.6.2.0+ (Build ID: bb1511c) ==> all charts are
moved at the top left of the sheet on each other.

I think the bug was introduced probably after 2012-08-11 because it is the date

Ah, sorry, I am an idiot, of course there is no odd coincidence going on, the
recursion has not ended, it just happens to be relatively deep in a call from

Can someone come up with a static HTML page? I then can create a temporarily
site for a few weeks (don't want to keep it forever) and show that page.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47368] Many crashes when accessibility enabled on MacOS X

2012-09-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #101 from Tor Lillqvist 2012-09-09 14:07:31

Running gdb on the TDF build of 3.6.1, getting a backtrace through all the
levels of hitTestRunner recursion is a lot faster (as there is no debugging
info, it doesn't have any parameter values or source file locations to print
out). It took only some tens of seconds, and around 58000 stack levels up it is
out of the recursion;) So gdb does not seem to be confused, there really *is*
an unbelievable amount of recursion going on here... Well, even if gdb is not
confused, *I* certainly am.

For case II, there is an *awful* lot of recursion going on in hitTestRunner().
By an odd coincidence (?), the recursion ends before the thread runs out of
stack space though. But then some thirty call stack slots deeper it does,
anyway:

The problem turned out to be pretty trivial and localized after all. (I am not
sure if using valgrind would have helped much, but anyway, valgrind does not
work on OS X 10.8, not even a bleeding edge svn version.)

The problem is that in the AccFrameSelector destructor RemoveEventListener is
called, but only if the mpFrameSel member is non-null. Unfortunately, in the
Invalidate() method mpFrameSel is set to zero but the event listener is not
removed. So when the object is destructed, as mpFrameSel is null, the event
listener does not get removed, but stays active, even if associated with a dead
object.

The solution is to remove the event listener also in Invalidate(). I added a
new tiny function for that.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54689] New: Windows explorer or TotalCommander crash when pointing to a *.ODB file

2012-09-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54689

 Bug #: 54689
Summary: Windows explorer or TotalCommander crash when pointing
to a *.ODB file
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: luz...@geosystem.ch

Windows Explorer and Christian Ghisler's Total Commander 8.01 crash after a few
seconds when pointing to a *.ODB Database. The databases themselves operate
normally.
The Windows crash message hints to "msvcr90.dll".

This behavior is verified on Win7_64, WinXP32 on three machines with LO 3.6.0
and LO 3.6.1. with all such databases (all internal HLSQL).
After reverting to 3.5.6 the problem disappears, so it looks like a LO3.6
problem.

Bug 41015 added automatic insertion of a non-break space before percent signs
in French, because this is what our typographics rules say. This introduced a
small regression in Calc, because now numbers with percent signs are considered
as text, not as numbers formatted as percents.

This is related to a problem with the "percents" cell format, which does not
include the non-break space between numbers and the % sign. Maybe fixing this
would also fix the detection issue.?

I built the 3.6 branch with --enable-debug, and reproduced.

This indeed is some kind of lifecycle management issue. It seems that
svx::a11y::AccFrameSelector::WindowEventListener() in
svx/source/accessibility/AccessibleFrameSelector.cxx (defined with the
IMPL_LINK macro) gets called after the AccFrameSelector object in question has
been destroyed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54685] New: Add non-break space between numbers and units in French

ReportedBy: nalimi...@club.fr

Bug 41015 added non-break spaces before percent signs in French. This is great,
but I noticed it would be useful to insert it in more cases: we need non-break
spaces between numbers and units (currency signs and unit abbreviations).

For currency signs, they can be detected from the Unicode spec. A list is
available at http://unicode.org/charts/PDF/U20A0.pdf. For example, in libICU,
the type U_CURRENCY_SYMBOL identifies them.

For unit abbreviations, Wikipedia has a quite complete list for French at
http://fr.wiktionary.org/wiki/Annexe:Unit%C3%A9s_de_mesure_en_fran%C3%A7ais
We may also include only the handful of most common units, if that's easier and
less error-prone.

Confirmed with LO 3.5.6.2 on Fedora 17. This is an old behaviour.

It's particularly annoying with percent signs, because they are often between
brackets (like 10%). In that case, you need to re-add the non-break space by
hand, which is fastidious...

Oh, I don't know how I managed that - certainly not intentionally as I didn't
know what that did. I think it is rather confusing that it treats it as one
range when I select column B, but two separate ranges when I select column A.

Maybe it could alert you if you try to autofilter on more than a defined range.
"The defined range is smaller than the range you have selected; do you want to
extend your defined range?"

--- Comment #1 from noibs...@me.com 2012-09-08 16:41:02 UTC ---
I think this bug may be more widespread than first indicated.

I've been trying to attach a simple LO calc document to illustrate this, but
every time I hit the submit button, I get a server error. However, this bug is
easy to reproduce (at least for me).

Create a new Calc (spreadsheet) document. Enter the number 1 in a cell.
Select the cell below that first cell and create a formula to add 1 to the
first cell. You should have now have 1 followed by 2 in the cell below.
Finally, select that second cell and copy it down so that you have a list of 10
more numbers, in order.

If I do that in LO 3.6.1.2 and then select that group of cells created above,
LO will immediately crash if I either: 1) Do Edit -> Cut; hit the Mac delete
key; or 3) Attempt to drag and drop that group of cells to any place else in
that document.

I can reproduce this in dozens of existing LO calc documents I have.
Unfortunately, I haven't done any serious editing of my calc documents in the
past week. During that time I updated Java from 2012-004 to 2012-005 using the
Apple supplied (from Oracle) Java versions. Keep in mind that for Mac users,
the version of Java reported in the LO preferences and used by LO will be the
full Java version supplied by Apple. If a user later updates just the JRE
version using an Oracle-supplied update, only the new JRE used by Web browsers
will be updated. LO will still use the full SE version that a user probably
got from Apple. If a user installs a full Oracle Java SE update, then that
update WILL be used by LO. My gut tells me this is a Java issue (don't ask me
why).

In the past I've tried to manually find and delete Java files on a Mac system
in an effort to downgrade Java versions, but that has often caused problems
because there are so many Java files installed in a Mac OS X install. Thus,
later today, I'll reinstall my Mac OS 10.8.1 and then reload an older Java
version to see if that's the source of the problem.

In the meantime, can any Mac users reading this attempt to recreate this bug
using the instructions above? Report if you can or if you can't and also
report your Mac OS version as well as the Java version reported in the
LibreOffice Java preference.

Thanks. This is killing my productivity this morning. I have a library of
hundreds of LO Calc docs that I normally use when creating new documents. I do
a lot of dragging and dropping.

Thank you very much for your bug report!

@ juha.siuko...@iki.fi :
If the problem described by noibsguy in comment #1 is the same as your original
issue (and that seems rather probable), this bug would be the same as bug
54674, and therefore in turn the same as bug 53364.

What does this mean? Good news: this bug is already fixed, and the fix will
appear in LibreOffice 3.6.2, which will be released soon*). Until then, we are
sorry for all inconveniences this bug may cause for you, and thank you for your
patience!

*) At least a first pre-release should be available end of next week; you can
download it then from
  http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/
and use it to confirm if this issue is really fixed. Maybe you can even use it
for your real work -- this is not recommended, of course, but at least I myself
use pre-releases most times for my work, and in 90% of the time they work well,
so you could give it a try... Just my 2 cents ;-)

Sorting on column A sort only column A because you have define the range A1:A7
in Data > Define range.

So Calc will use this range for the sort.
I don't think we should consider this as a bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54374] JRE path isn't updated

Thanks for all your efforts.
LibreOffice is surely the way to go, at least because of this kind of support.

In the mean time I found that, although my XP system is fine now,
my Windows7 system seems to need a 32-bit JRE as the 64-bit JRE is not
accepted, still causing crashes on "Send".
Renaming the user directory reveals that on W7 LO does NOT create a new
file "javasettings*.xml

As I'm planning to buy a MacBook Pro which is 64-bits by nature, I wonder
how I will cope with this problem on that machine as Oracle doesn't
provide a 32-bit JAVA7 any more.

;JOOP!

A good idea, but no -- I can reproduce it also (with LibO 3.6.1.2) on Mac OS X
10.6.8 (Intel), which runs Java 1.6.0_35.

-> Adapted summary.

REPRODUCIBLE with LibO 3.6.1.2, German langpack installed, on Mac OS X 10.6.8
(Intel) -- see above.

NOT reproducible, at least not that easily, with LibreOffice 3.5.6.2 on the
same machine.

-> Added keyword ‘regression’.

-> Set Status to ‘NEW’.

But, good news: IIRC a very similar bug was reported some time ago and is
already fixed (the fix should appear in LibreOffice 3.6.2). Now searching for
that bug ...

Run LibreOffice Writer 3.6

1. Create Header(Default) and insert Horizontal Line(1) named blurulr6.gif
2. In Header write some text sequence(Magenta 4 color) with Heading 1
3. In normal document area insert table.
4. Create Footer(Default) and insert Horizontal Line(2) named blurulr1.gif
5. In Footer write some text sequence(Magenta 4 color) with Heading 1

and finally... go to next page ! and save file and reload it.

After that Horizontal Line(1) color changed to black, the cursor started
blinking rapidly.
