The paragraph formats are the format applied to the whole paragraph. The character format are those applied to a portion of the paragraph. Be careful though, if you apply the bold format to a whole paragraph, so the bold format is a paragraph format, and then unblod a portion of this paragraph, the bold format is still a paragraph format. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61606] New: LibreOffice should import and export custom XML parts in Office Open XML documents
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61606 Priority: medium Bug ID: 61606 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: LibreOffice should import and export custom XML parts in Office Open XML documents Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: wolfgang.silberm...@gmail.com Hardware: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.0.0.3 release Component: filters and storage Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 75682 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=75682action=edit A file with a custom XML part inside. The Office Open XML document format allows custom XML files to be included in the zip file (Spec Part 1, §15.2.5). This is for programs to store information in these files and they should be kept there even when an office program opens and saves the file. When opening such a document in LibreOffice and saving it again, the custom parts are lost. Depending on the workflow of the third-party tools, this can cause loss of data which is expected to be kept in the document. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the attached file file-with-custom-xml.xlsx with a zip program, and see the contents. There is a folder called custom with a file called custom.xml, and the files /[Content_Types].xml as well as the /_rels/.rels contain references to this file. 2. Open the file in MS Office 2007 or later, save it under a new filename. See the contents of the file, the custom folder with the file inside is still there. 3. Open the file in LibreOffice, save it under a new filename. See the contents of the file, the folder is gone. It would be nice if LibreOffice ignores the contents of these files, so one is not limited to putting XML inside. Microsoft Office ignores the contents, so any other file type can be used. When there is no reference in the [Content_Types].xml or the .rels file, the custom files can be safely deleted. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61607] New: PRINTING: Printing dialog doesn't remember the Document value (Slides/Handouts/Notes/Outline)

Let's say you need to first print handouts for slides 1-50, then from 100-110, then from 130-140. Every time you open the printing dialog again, it is set back to the Slides default, which is very impractical and illogical from a user's point of view. It doesn't need to remember this setting on saving and loading the ODP file, but within one session, it should. And yes, this *did* work with an older LO/OOo version, I just don't remember when that changed. Steps to reproduce: 1. Just open an ODP file and print handouts several times. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39484] Outline groups are lost while editing or after re-opening a spreadsheet
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39484 Petr Mladek pmla...@suse.cz changed: What|Removed |Added Severity|blocker |critical CC||pmla...@suse.cz --- Comment #21 from Petr Mladek pmla...@suse.cz --- I understand your pain. Please, try to understand the other side as well. If it is hard to reproduce, it is also hard to fix. The LO source code is really huge and the bug might be in many locations. Some complicated bugs takes days to fix even when they are easily reproducible. This one is harder because there is no scenario. The bug has been reported 1.5 year ago. I understand that it is data loss and more people are affected. But still there are only 4 people in CC and no duplicate. I do not understand why it should suddenly start blocking bug fix release with other useful fixes and improvements. Please note that changing severity from blocker to critical is not that big change. It only means that this bug will not block the release. It has the highest priority, the second highest severity, so it is still on top of the queries. It is listed in MABs, so heavily advertised. I have also nominated it as Hard Hack, so it might get even more attention soon, see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/HardHacks Please continue in monitoring this problem when you work with LO and when you read other bugs or mails. It is kind of detective work. You might meat a new indicia that could help to create a scenario and help to fix it. I guess that there is an operation that breaks a data structure in memory and the information about the outline groups gets lost. It might help to remember what operations you did when this bug happened and compare them with operations that you do the other days and you do not see this bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61620 Priority: medium Bug ID: 61620 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: TABLE: Formatting lost when editing numeric field Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: john.hendr...@gmail.com Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.0.0.3 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Writer keeps removing formatting in table cells after editing them and reverts it to default (Text @). Writer will also set the language to Default UK, no matter what the document language. 1) Create a new document. 2) Inserts a table. 3) Type a number in a format that is not your default locale, for example 77,55. 4) Change Number Format of this cell to Language Dutch (Netherlands) and the format to 0,00. 5) Edit the cell and change the value to 77,5 by just deleting the last 5 and then pressing Tab to exit the cell. 6) Check Number Format again and notice the format was lost. Number recognition is globally off for Tables. Number recognition is off for this specific table. After EVERY edit the Number Format is lost. This bug has been present for years, but it finally irked me enough to report it. Also see this post by a user with the same problem (especially the last XML part): http://en.libreofficeforum.org/node/4503 The problem is partially mitigated by changing the default locale to Dutch (where it is UK normally) but Writer STILL changes the Number Format to '@'. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57061] Not all personal data imported during install from /3 User Profile
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57061 --- Comment #72 from Pedro pedl...@gmail.com --- Update: just installed 4.0.1.2 Many progresses in user data migration. However some settings are still not migrated: 1) Java version is not selected (was manually selected in 3.6.5.2) 2) Online update checking was manually unselected in 3.6.5.2 and is selected again in 4.0.1.2 Because pathnames where changed, all Shared extensions were lost and need to be reinstalled.
