[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72668] New: Allow user to remove selected or all the recent items from the launching screen

2013-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72668

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 72668
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Allow user to remove selected or all the recent items
from the launching screen
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: narayana...@outlook.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.0.beta1
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

The launch screen of LibreOffice shows thumbnails of recent items.

However, there is not facility to remove selected items (to remove clutter, or
to hide a sensitive document).

Also, there is no facility to clear all items from this screen. A user may need
this to start building the list afresh.

Please provide a feature to remove selected or all items from the list.

2013-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #10 from saeed saeed1...@yahoo.com ---
There is no difference between LTR and RTL languages in this issue. I have
uploaded two new files that are written in a RTL language. The result is the
same.
Please take a look at NumAlignRTL.doc and NumAlignRTL.docx.
Changing the version was my mistake. This is the first time I'm working with
bugzilla! Sorry for that...

Again thank you

LibreOffice shows recent items on its launch screen.

The view is thumbnails by default. It cannot be sorted by name or date.

Both these facilities are useful for the user.

Allow the user to change the view style (thumbnails, mini thumbnails, list,
details).

Also, allow user to sort the list by name, modified date, created date or path.

LibreOffice shows a list of recent items in its launch screen.

Allow the user to type the name of the file name he wants.

Like the typeahead feature in a mobile, this feature should find the first
file with matching string, starting from the top of the list.

Note: In another suggestion, I have suggested that the list should be sortable.

In this feature, LibreOffice should search the sorted list in top-down order
for a match.

The first matching file should be highlighted (selected). Now the user can
simply press Enter to launch that file.

If there are multiple matches, the first match should be selected.

BTW this type to find feature is provided in browsers like FireFox.

That is not needed here. Just allow the user to start typing.

So you also have some OpenOffice.org (or Apache Open Office) installed? The
bogus /opt/openoffice.org/ure/lib RPATH in the extension's
libAntidote_32.OOo.MT.P100.so will get you into trouble then.

If you want to try out whether you're able to run the extension together with
LibreOffice, I'd suggest to first deinstall any OpenOffice (make sure
/opt/openoffice.org no longer exists or is at least empty) and then retry the
commands from comment 28.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72645] LibreOffice Calc inconsitent results from GETPIVOTDATA

2013-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72645

--- Comment #5 from Ceri Mitchell cmitch...@ad-holdings.co.uk ---
Hi, thanks for the reply.

Sorry I started looking at an issue with GETPIVOTDATA importing Pivot tables
from Excel and found some other issues along the way, so I listed them all.
LibreOffice 4.0.6 handles all of this OK, 4.2.x does not.

I waited for the fix for bug 69518 before retesting and reporting.

Here they are broken down:

PivotTableLibreOffice.ods:

1. Cell A2, Different results returned by 4.0.6 and 4.2. You may be right with
Bug 68666, not sure.

2. Cells A4 and A5 demonstrate that the second format of GETPIVOTDATA seems to
be case sensitive.

3. Cell A10, Different handling of Target Value format with spaces at the end
of the field item string. 4.2.x behaves differently to 4.0.6

PivotTableExcel.ods
This is the bug I was looking for, which I think is with using GETPIVOTDATA
with a Pivot Table created in Excel. Again it works OK in 4.0.6.

When this spreadsheet is opened with 4.2.x none of the valid test GETPIVOTDATA
examples work (A1 to A7,A10,A12,A17).
Only cell A15 works and this is where I have inserted the text Sum of into
the TargetField string.

/opt/openoffice.org

/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/presentation-minimizer/registry/data/org/openoffice
/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/presentation-minimizer/registry/schema/org/openoffice

Have I to drop them in the bin? And that's it. Or do I have to use the
terminal?

There are somes files too inside this folder. Aren't they old folders from
Openoffice that LibreOffice use to be functional?

Thank you,

TGE.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72323] LibreOffice and Antidote

2013-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72323

--- Comment #33 from Stephan Bergmann sberg...@redhat.com ---
(In reply to comment #32)
Futhermore, in opt/openoffice.org, there are just two files libreg.so.3 and
libstore.so.3. I think these are the ones that are problematic. Do I have to
put in the bin, just like this?

Yes, you should try that. No idea what put them there, but seeing you also
somehow got a /opt/Druide/Antidote7/texteurs/openoffice.org you maybe got those
through the same installation process.

(And you should /not/ touch any of the other directories apart from
/opt/openoffice.org/ure/lib you listed in comment 31.)

But if I try opening the file with Word 2011 on OSX 10.9 Excel will not open
the file as well with the info that the file format is invalid.

So if Excel cannot open this, the behavior is not a bug but expected.

Tree items under Tools - Options - LibreOfficeDev are not localized.

In cui/source/options/treeopt.src there are 16 elements in ItemList. In po
files there are 17 (mostly), because Expert Config was not removed.

I tested --with-langs=en-US hu sl. hu had 17 elements, sl had 16. In
workdir/SrsPartMergeTarget/cui/source/options/treeopt.src this tree was not
localized (even not in Slovenian, which matched!).

Then I tested --with-lang=en-US sl. In

localized in Slovenian -- good.

Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.3.2 release
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: The problem is found when i tried to convert a trimed
bitmap object to a curve. i wanted to make an object reflection, so i copied
the bitmap object, inverted it vertically, and trimmed the lower part of it
since i dont what the entired object to be the reflection. i then converted it
to a curve because i should be transparent. but when convertion completed, it
turned into sth. like the upper part was trimmed. it is not right since i just
trimmed the lower part.

Steps to reproduce:
1. invert a bitmap object vertically;
2. trim the lower part of it by using picture tool - trim;
3. convert it into curve. then it doesnt seem what it should be like.

Current behavior: curve object converted from the trimed bitmap does not look
like the trimed bitmap. it kind of moved up.

Expected behavior: curve object converted from trimed bitmap should look
exactly identical with the trimed bitmap.

(In reply to comment #18)
I tried this an another online validator, and both are happy even with no
ActualText at all, which makes me skeptic about their usefulness (unless
PDF/A-1a does not actually require tagged PDF).

It appears that PDF/A-1a does require a tagged PDF:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PDF/A#PDF.2FA-1

PDF/A-1a includes all the requirements of PDF/A-1b and additionally requires:

* document structure must be included (hierarchy)
* Tagged PDF (use of alternative texts for images, tagging text spans and
giving them an ID, replacement texts for symbols)
...

And ActualText does sound very similar:
http://webaim.org/discussion/mail_thread?thread=4817

From Adobe's Help for InDesign CS 5.5:

PDF also supports actual text, in addition to Alt text. Actual text can be
applied to graphic elements that visually look like text. For example, a
scanned TIFF image. Actual text is used to represent words that were
converted to artwork. Actual text is only applicable for tagged PDFs.

Sooo... I'm not sure. Perhaps we could ask someone at Adobe and/or at one of
these validator companies?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57330] : Link to external data does not work

2013-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57330

--- Comment #4 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
Julien I think this can be resolved as a duplicate of one of the bugs I list.
The main problem with this report is it contains multiple issues and is not as
clear as the other bugs. As Eike Rathke has reported in:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54533#c5

Insert - Link to external data is not meant to work with CSV files or files
 of
types other than spreadsheet or HTML files.

In this sense case (1) is invalid or at least a duplicate of enhancement bug
35040. In terms of case (2) this is not clear:

Create a list of simple comma separated numbers in a .xls file, for ex.
 E1.xls.

If the file is in XLS format it is not comma separated and vice versa. It may
be a reference (as indicated in comment #2) to LO not exporting the link
correctly to the XLS format, in which case it is a duplicate of bug 48463.

In terms of case (3) the data can be inserted / linked OK and initially
re-opening the XLS the data is displayed as expected, but answering Yes to
the This file contains links to other files. Should they be updated? query
results in the message The link could not be updated. I tested this using
this basic example:

http://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_tables

... under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 running:

- v3.3.0.4 OOO330m19 Build: 6
- v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a

As I previously suggested, this would appear to be bug 63407.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72677] New: Hebrew letter position skewed in lines containing spaces

2013-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72677

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 72677
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Hebrew letter position skewed in lines containing
spaces
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: shahar.ev...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.3.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 90718
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=90718action=edit
See red line marking the page boundary and red squares marking shifted
characters

In recent versions (not sure but I believe after 4.0), writing Hebrew (RTL) on
Mac shows a new bug which makes things almost unusable:

When writing any text that has spaces in it, letters will shift right while
writing by about half-a-letter once a space is added, which makes the text
unreadable. After a second or so of idle time, or after moving to a new line,
the letters adjust and will no longer be half-hidden be eachother but instead
the whole line will be shifted to the right beyond the page boundary.

I've tried this with several different fonts and did not seem to show any
difference.

Lines with no spaces in them seem to be fine, although that doesn't really
cover any real text.

To reproduce:
1. Create a new Writer document on Mac
2. Write some Hebrew text with spaces

Screenshot demonstrating the problem is attached.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67370] PDF: Hyphenation not visible when text is exported as tagged PDF (applies to PDF/A-1 as well)

2013-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67370

--- Comment #20 from Khaled Hosny khaledho...@eglug.org ---
The PDF specification is clear on that an automatically inserted hyphen should
be mapped to a soft hyphen when tagged PDF is used. Older versions of the spec
just suggest using the soft hyphen glyph, which is what we are doing now but it
is does not work with our strict layout engine. Later versions of the spec
suggest using ActualText which I’m trying to do now, but not sure if it it
actually working. Those two validators
(http://www.pdf-tools.com/pdf/validate-pdfa-online.aspx and
http://www.validatepdfa.com/online.htm) seem to be happy even with just a
regular ASCII hyphenminus, so I doubt they are actually checking the ActualText
tags or even caring about the hyphen at all.

Non-debug backtrace log.

Problem description:
Under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 (Java: 1.6.0_27-b27) and Crunchbang 11 x86_64 (Java:
1.6.0_45_b06) both running v4.1.3.2 Build ID:
70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a using the Insert Link to External
Data facility for this link:

http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/external/excel/quotes.asp?SYMBOL=IAU

... results in a segmentation fault (refer attached). Under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64
running v4.0.6.2 Build ID: 2e2573268451a50806fcd60ae2d9fe01dd0ce24 the data is
inserted as expected. Under Windows 7 HP 64bit running v4.1.2.2 the Import
Options window fails to display and no list of Available tables/ranges is
shown. The same behaviour (as for Windows) has also been reported for MacOS
10.6.8 running v4.1.3.2 here:

http://en.libreofficeforum.org/node/7168

These additional operating systems behaviour is provided for context only. The
reported problem is the segmentation fault, although I suppose the lack of
response in the other cases may be related. Resetting the user profile has no
effect.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start Calc.
2. Insert Link to External Data.
3. Insert
http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/external/excel/quotes.asp?SYMBOL=IAU in
URL field.
4. Press ENTER.

Current behavior:
LO crashes with segmentation fault.

Expected behavior:
Import Options dialog displays, followed by list of Available tables/ranges.
Operating System: Linux (Other)
Version: 4.1.3.2 release

If something is very slow, install the debuginfo so you have symbols (without
this it's a waste of time) and do:

export OOO_DISABLE_RECOVERY=1
valgrind --tool=callgrind --simulate-cache=yes --dump-instr=yes ./soffice.bin
--splash-pipe=0

reproduce the problem (if it only takes a second or two to pop up then do it a
few times), then exit cleanly.

Bear in mind callgrind runs 150x slower than real-time - so this will take some
patience.

Now bzip2 the callgrind.txt* and mail it to an interested developer.

Or poke in kcachegrind and fix it yourself =)

Needs a callgrind trace.

The dialog to link to external data is not really resizable. Only the window is
resizable but the text field to type the url is not when it is the most
important.

Steps to reproduce:
1/ open a new spreadsheet
2/ menu Insert Link to external data
3/ try to resize the dialog window.

URL field larger making the problem less visible.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66316] Bookmarks Menu Extension crashes

2013-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon

 Resolution|--- |NOTOURBUG

--- Comment #9 from Jean-Baptiste Faure jbf.fa...@sud-ouest.org ---
Please could report problems with this extension to its developer:
http://extensions.openoffice.org/fr/project/bookmarksmenu

A priori the problem is on the extension side. So closing as NotOurBug

Please, feel free to reopen if there is clear argument in favor of a
LibreOffice bug.
If the extension works in AOO is not enough as argument because of API changes
between both AOO and LibreOffice.

Best regards. JBF

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59611] Use of personas

2013-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59611

--- Comment #5 from Marc Pare m...@marcpare.com ---
I still think that it would be best put in a more logical place where users
would be able to find it. Even if it were put in the Tools-Customize.
Actually, when using the FR interface, Customize was translated to
Personalize which is even more appealing a place to put the personas tool.

We need to make this fun and sexy tool more accessible to users so that they
can start trading their personal fravorite personas with each other. I must
say that now that I look at the EN interface, I am not so sure if the
Customize word should be better changed to Personalize as that section is
all about personalizing your LibreOffice to the way that you want it to work. I
like the FR translation better.

Frankly, we should even be talking about this more about the trading and
people's favorite personas on the users lists so that we can create a culture
of personas trading with our suite -- this make our suite really fun and sexy
to use.

Hi Ruslan,
in your file, the dagger (x) is in Symbol font, not in Times New Roman.
Are your sure that this font is correctly installed on your systems?

Please, do the following in LibreOffice:
1/ open the file
2/ select the first dagger in 436x170x277 page 10
3/ right click and choose Character in the context menu
4/ in the font tab, you should read The same font will be used on both your
printer and your screen if the font is found and used by LibreOffice.

--- Comment #21 from Marcus Svensson marsv...@gmail.com ---
I've started doing some testing on this and found one issue when working with
.doc documents:

Check in does not redirect to checked in copy after check in
1. Check out an .doc document.
2. Make changes
3. Check in
The document is checked in in Alfresco, however LibreOffice is not redirected
to the checked in version and stays on the working copy. Issuing a new save now
will create a new document in Alfresco with the Working copy name.

Everything works with docx documents and odt documents. It is just the doc
documents that do not.

Same issue with all three endpoints

Will continue testing to see if anything else appears.

--- Comment #6 from Luiz Angelo Daros de Luca luizl...@gmail.com ---
I was sure that the EPS colors were wrong because I read the file (it is a text
script). I also tested it with inkscape. I workaround the problem converting
all files to SVG, which does not have color problems.

Testing again the odt file, it seems to be fixed. What I learned from bug 67240
is that LO does not have a EPS reader, and uses system ghostscript for the job.
I don't know if it was an LO update or the ghostscript update but in my ubuntu
13.10, all colors seems to be ok. Now, the previously attached odt file has no
visual difference between the two images (EPS and PNG).

If you are curious what the problem looks like when I reported, check the
attached PDF file. The colors are visually different.

I'll mark it as RESOLVED/NOTOURBUG as it is probably a GS bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59611] Use of personas

2013-12-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59611

--- Comment #6 from Peter Maunder peter.maun...@wanadoo.fr ---
I am an enthusiastic user of Personas, but create and use them for our home
use.

Firefox and Thunderbird allow a user to add a user's own Personas without going
through the hassle of using the Personas Theme Website, just like changing the
desktop background.
CUSTOM PERSONAS EDIT Header, Footer filename, Text Accent Colours.

For example, my wife likes to have a choice of her own current textile fabric
design. this is easy and fun with Firefox / Thunderbird but need me to copy and
rename files for LibO as it is not simple.
Some companies are also careful about in-house themes being kept in-house.

I do not know whether it would be simple to enhance your current support to add
this feature, but I believe it would add to the fun of using Personas, and
hence the human face of LibO.
