[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85080] New: ENHANCEMENT: Show a pop-up dialog for "Read-only recommended" file
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85080 Bug ID: 85080 Summary: ENHANCEMENT: Show a pop-up dialog for "Read-only recommended" file Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Libreoffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: suokunl...@gmail.com This bug is based on Bug 84224. That bug was closed as WORKSFORME and now this new bug is filed for an enhancment request. Problem Description: When you save a file in ms excel 2010, on the file save dialog there is "Tools -> General Option -> Read-only recommended" option. When this option is enabled when you save a file, next time when you open this file with ms excel there will be a dialog pops up asking you whether you want to open the file read-only or edit the file. But when you open such a "Read-only recommended" file in LibreOffice, it's open directly read-only. Althrough you can edit the file by clicking the "Edit File" icon in the toolbar, very few people know the exists of this icon thus they may think they are not able to edit this kind of file with LibreOffice. This kind of file has the following tag: docProps\app.xml: ... 2 ... See here: http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/TagNames/OOXML.html OOXML Tags DocSecurity 1 = Password protected 2 = Read-only recommended 4 = Read-only enforced 8 = Locked for annotations Suggested Improvements: When this kind of "Read-only recommended" file is opened in LibreOffice, a pop-up dialog shows up, either: * Tell the user the file is to be open read-only, if he/she want to edit the file, please click the "Edit File" icon on the toolbar. * Ask whether he/she want to open the file read-only or want to edit the file. If the answer is "Edit", then LibreOffice should open the file in edit mode, otherwise in read-only mode. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85056] [REGRESSION] Writer crash after copy paste specific text
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85056 --- Comment #2 from grofaty --- I have found out if I am using my own profile then when I copy/paste the text from Firefox normal web page: V Fixpack 3 je nova funkcionalnost, da lahko paket objaviš objaviš objaviš objavi and it does not crashes the Writer. But if I copy some additional character (or more characters) like: V Fixpack 3 je nova funkcionalnost, da lahko paket objaviš objaviš objaviš objavi then Writer crashes. It looks like some problem with end of line character or something. If I copy the text to Notepad and Writer does not crashes. I don't know if I copy more text from Notepad and then Writer crashes. Strange. But what is interesting if I rename LibreOffice profile and so new clean profile is created then it is 10 times worse. Writer crashes on EVERY copy/paste from Firefox web page or Notepad. See attachment print-screen of crashes. Is this ordinary LibreOffice crash window or is this some kind of Windows crash notification window? https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84224 Kevin Suo changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|NEW CC||suokunl...@gmail.com --- Comment #4 from Kevin Suo --- - Translation: Problem description: When you save a file in ms excel 2010, on the file save dialog there is "Tools -> General Option -> Suggest Read Only" option (translated). When this option is enabled when you save a file, next time when you open this file with ms excel there will be a dialog pops up asking you whether you want to open the file read-only or edit the file. But when you open such a file (the file saved with "Suggest Read Only" option enabled) in LibreOffice, it's only possible to open read-only, no way to edit the file in LibreOffice. Steps to reproduce: 1. In ms excel 2010, Save > Tools > General Options, enable "Suggest Read Only. 2. Open the saved file with ms excel 2000 open file 3. A dialog pops up (to let you decide whether you want to open in read-only mode), select "no" so you can edit the file. 4. Open the saved file with Libreoffice. 5. Current behaviour:Result of above lookup is "#N/A" Expected behaviour:same behaviour as if search criterion was a positive value. Attached spreadsheet October tab Cell M2 contains evidence. Using any of the adjacent cells for the search criterion gives correct result. however the K2 (negative criterion) results in the error. I have checked for any spurious data (such as values created by calculation not simple currency input) and there are none except simple addition and subtraction of currency values. The help file doesn't say that the criterion must be positive. I am not sure if the help file line " Additionally, the search vector for the LOOKUP must be sorted ascending, otherwise the search will not return any usable results." is the reason but the adjacent lookup cells are not sorted and give the expected result. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75683] SLIDESHOW: LibreOffice: no sound on some "pps" files
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75683 --- Comment #56 from Alex --- Julien, Michael: For your own "validation" 32-bit tests I suggest something along the lines of what I did: 1. Go to Ubuntu site and download the _32_-bit file, Name: "ubuntu-14.04.1-desktop-i386.iso" Size: a Gig and change (will later fit on a 2G USB stick comfortably) 2. Put this ISO file on the USB stick (a 2G "flash drive", < US$10) 3. Reboot your computer on the USB ("Ubuntu-32") drive. 4. Have no fear; at the end of the boot you are presented with two choices: Click on the "Try Ubuntu" button. Obviously, only if you want to _install_ it somewhere on an existing drive, mess up with the second "Install Ubuntu" button and what ensues. "Try Ubuntu" mode should suffice for the investigation of this submitted bug, in my very humble opinion. 5. After hitting "Try Ubuntu" you will end up on a system, "ubuntu 14.04 LTS" (in System Settings). 6. Open an Xterm terminal and at the prompt type either, uname -m or getconf LONG_BIT to confirm you are on a 32-bit system (as you should and expected all along) 7. Make sure you have sound: System Settings > Sound > "Play sound through" Choose your favorite sound output, then hit "Test Sound" to hear you have sound enabled properly. Among the FEW things Ubuntu offers you by DEFAULT on the left icon bar, SURPRISE, SURPRISE (no Michael, I'm not shouting at Julien): Libre Office !!! v. 4.2.4.2 8. Click on the Impress button (lowest of the three LO buttons over there). 9. Assuming you somehow copied (or can get to) the PPS files, open them in Impress (i.e., the object of the game). MY CONCLUSIONS 10. NEITHER 'Prague.pps' NOR 'Watermelons.pps' emit ANY sound at all !!! 11. Ironically, my third PPS file (I never mentioned before) called, 'AllTheGirls.pps' emits sound (beautifully), meaning (at least for me) that LO Impress does play sound (on a 32-bit system) when it wants to. But that would be the symptom of the bug, wouldn't it? NOTES 12. Same as on my mentioned Ubuntu 64, PulseAudio is at version 4.0 here too. 13. I can make the third ("new") file, 'AllTheGirls.pps' available on request. I suggest you go through the steps 1 through 10 and publish the results before we talk about that. Sizes, for the record, Prague.pps 9+ GB Watermelons.pps 8- GB AllTheGirls.pps 5- GB Cheers, -- Alex -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84113] Saving a file or exporting pdf changes all timestamps in folder
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84113 --- Comment #5 from al.free.2...@gmail.com --- Created attachment 107903 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=107903&action=edit Tar of directory with test case text files This zip is of a dir, with a few text files, no extensions. What I did. 1. Using cp -rp command I copied the directory to a test dir. 2.Opened a file with LibreOffice and it opened with writer: 3.Made a change and saved to prove it did not change all time stamps. 4.Clicked the PDF icon. When the file dialog came up all time stamps were changed. I repeated the above and then tar'ed the directory. 1.I copied it into a directory. Did the steps above with same results. 2.Copy it to another dir, repeated results. I repeated all the above, but used TextEdit, did A Save As, this only changed the file being edited. Repeated with GVIM and it worked as expected. 1.Opened a file with LibreOffice which was created with a Save As by TextEdit. When the file dialog came up all time stamps were changed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85073] New: Chart 'Data Ranges...' grayed out
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85073 Bug ID: 85073 Summary: Chart 'Data Ranges...' grayed out Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Chart Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jby...@yahoo.co.uk Created attachment 107902 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=107902&action=edit Sample spreadsheet Using LO Version: 4.2.6.3 Build ID: 420m0(Build:3) under Linux Mint 17. Use: Insert > Object > Chart... to create a simple chart. Accept the default values in steps 1 and 2. In step 3, click 'Add'. In the box headed 'Data series' appears the wording: 'Unnamed Series' and in the box headed 'Data ranges' there are two rows (or more in the case of e.g.x-y plots). The top line reads 'Name'. As a beginner, it appears to be possible to change 'Unnamed Series' to a name of your own choosing by entering a value in the text edit box 'Range for Name', e.g. "Foo" Enter a genuine data range, so that a nice-looking chart appears. Now, if you save and close the spreadsheet and then re-open it, it is no longer possible to access the 'Data Ranges...' dialog. The option to do so is grayed out in the 'Format' menu, and on the right-click menu on the chart itself the option has been replaced with 'Chart Data Table...' This is now only a copy of the data and not linked to the spreadsheet. Up until the save and re-open, it is still possible to access 'Data Ranges', and indeed if "Foo" is deleted the spreadsheet may be saved and re-opened without problems. This is counter-intuitive to me. If 'Range for Name' can only accept properly-defined spreadsheet ranges, then the user should be warned of this, and not have to discover it after saving/re-opening his/her work. Sample spreadsheet attached. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82039 --- Comment #8 from Vamsi Kodali --- It would still be inconsistency... one would expect 'Recent Documents' to be listed the same way irrespective of which situation it is accessed from. It is entirely possible that it is intended to be that way. In that case I wonder what the reasoning would be behind that. From my standpoint I think it should just list the names of the files without the path unless there are two entries in the list with identical filenames but different locations.
