Yes, but how is this relevant? > You can also clone the formatting (press ctrl to include the list) Yes, but if the list is also heavily formatted, cloning but of risk > or apply the same list or paragraph style. The list isn't based on paragraph style, so this isn't working as far I can tell > Don't see how we can improve the "Add to List" expert feature. And it's > clearly > not a bug. The behaviour in step 3 in case of bottom of the list, is what I would expect.. also for the top of the list.. The whole CTRL+CLICK 'Add to list' is the advanced feature, IMHO I admit, I'm circling around the area of bug 36220 and bug 140579.. Except there is no 'continue numbering' button. And > whether the paragraph has assigned a list or not is such a property. Having > it as a one-shot function to "clear list attributes" makes the function a > bit unaligned with the two list types we offer next to it. => NAB That's part of the problem. No List is actually being intended as Clear list :-) (how I perceive it). It caries the wrong label (no clue why No List got picked...) By calling the button 'No list' you are - verbally - creating a mutually exclusive option.. Which in practically isn't there. It isn't even an toggle. A toggle button - No list - suggest you you can it turn it off (activating a list), but this isn't possible. Next is simply counter intuitive.. Mostly you toggle stuff on to divert from the default. Here the default is 'no List' and you have button, toggled on to disable the list (hard to wrap you head around). The current implementation kind of suggest the whole document being a list, except if 'No list is activated' And empty document has 'no list' (except of some unusual default style). Also "No list' toggled 'ON' does actually isn't doing anything to the document. It isn't adding some 'DF attribute'. The unalignedness not really problem, IMHO.. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148798 Bug ID: 148798 Summary: Add to list: unable to 'detected' a list directly below/or above.. you always need to place cursor in the list Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.4.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: tele...@surfxs.nl Description: Add to list: unable to 'detected' a list directly below/or above.. you always need to place cursor in the list Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open attachment 179780 [details] 2. tools -> Customize -> toolbar -> Add 'add to list' to formatting toolbar 3. Select Hello 4. Notice the 'Add to list button' being de-activated.. 5. You need to read the manual about the whole CTRL click stuff. https://help.libreoffice.org/7.4/en-US/text/swriter/02/add_to_list.html?&DbPAR=SHARED&System=WIN Actual Results: The add to list is only usable after reading the manual.. although this being pretty common thing you want to do. And there could be some simple basic function to add it to existing list... If not that what's intended, you can simply undo (same argument as for auto-correct) Expected Results: The buttons in the toolbar have straight away functions. However Add to list has a very specific workflow. I kind of expect it being able to 'detect' a list directly below of above.. and simply add it there if this being the case. (without the whole CTRL+fuzz). More or less similar to Word where pressing 'numbered list' above /below existing list simply continues the list/numbering No problem with the extra CTRL+Click & Add to list thing, but that's an addition :-). The advanced feature, IMHO. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148793] UI: Customize dialog Toolbars Target, list the active toolbars on top (with separator)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148793 Heiko Tietze changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #1 from Heiko Tietze --- Don't see how we could preselect the target depending on a UNO command. With "other" you probably mean the "Formatting" toolbar where some list related commands are located. But it could also be "Bullets and Numbering" or "My fancy toolbar" (the button next to the dropdown allows to add own TB). However, if you start the customization dialog from the toolbar itself (right click: Customize Toolbar...) you get it with the target initialized. => NAB -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

This is a wide field and we have a lot of tickets around this topic. A summary of why and what is in bug 90374. To summarize your request: it's possible to have the Navigator in one sidebar and the Stylist in another. Docking is possible yet buggy on Linux. The (right) sidebar needs a minimum width to avoid hidden controls (you can override this with the expert option Sidebar:General:MinimumWidth, see bug 140360). But its not crashing in LibreOffice itself. I think this one should go to the distro/vendor to at least not crash in the system cairo under this circumstance and fail more gracefully to return a failure instead. I could imagine that using cairo_surface_create_similar_image instead of cairo_surface_create_similar for large images might avoid this crash, but doing it blindly without being able to reproduce probably just push the crash around a bit. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148432 --- Comment #10 from Hossein --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #4) > I can imagine and agree that it would be desirable. Asked just out of > curiosity how it looks. > > Trees with a deep hierarchy are discouraged in general and for less complex > layouts a list is recommended. So I wonder if the tree implementation > support RTL anyway. Haven't found any example for Gtk. Gtk and Qt themselves provide support for RTL trees. Are you talking about VCL implementation? For example, compile examples for GtkTreeView: https://docs.gtk.org/gtk3/treeview-tutorial.html but add this line: gtk_widget_set_direction(view, GTK_TEXT_DIR_RTL); > The request is not limited to the Navigator but also relevant for the > Stylist, for example. This is correct. I think the RTL layout for the trees would be desirable, but the problem would be mixed LTR RTL contents that happens because of the untranslated English text. For MS Word, even the style names are translated, so the output ins nice looking, but when the style names are English, the result is not always visually attractive. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38850 --- Comment #15 from Heiko Tietze --- (In reply to sdc.blanco from comment #14) > .. the request can be generalized to "always show toolbars that I manually > "activate" with View > Toolbars.) That's my understanding too. Somehow I manage this in my recent tests but I couldn't reproduce. Neither with the table toolbar. Fact is that leaving the context hides the contextual toolbar even when it was enabled manually. But additional to this bug we should auto-show the list/outline toolbar more often. Which would be kind of a workaround to the other issue as it makes the manual activation obsolete. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125543 draco31...@free.fr changed: What|Removed |Added CC||draco31...@free.fr --- Comment #22 from draco31...@free.fr --- Hello, This bug is very anoying and still present in latest version as shown by latest duplicates reports. Unfortunately, as screens becomes wider and uses higher dpi resolution, it is more and more difficult to find the restored window. This leads users to think it is freezed or anything unrecoverable and kill process, loosing their work. IMHO, I would expect to view at least the 'File' menu in order to save my work or quit properly, and the title bar button to maximize/close the window. I agree with the minimum size of 640x480 in last resort. I didn't see any screen smaller even considering oldest hardware capable of running current version of LO. May I ask what is expected by the UI team to take a decision ? Best regards -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

I could reproduce with the oldest commit in Linux 7.4 bibisect repo, but not in the newest. However, I then noticed that I could not reliably reproduce it.
