[Libreoffice-qa] req. wrt next blog on new functions in master

2012-05-23 Thread Cor Nouws

Hi all,

Probably I'll do a new version of this one

http://blog.documentfoundation.org/2012/05/11/new-and-changed-functions-you-can-experience-and-test-them-now/
tomorrow.

Any suggestions (that I can afford time-wise, preferably ;-) )?

thanks,

It doesn't create a wizard however. The only thing blocking
improvements there - the first of which IMHO would be to submit /
auto-fill the component and version fields - is a lack of developer
resource willing to concretely work on it ;-)

Hi,

I did some first thoughts concerning a Wizard gaining some basic info
from LibO (OS, Version / ID-No, some basic user settings (what still
need some discussion) with Rob Snelders at the Hackfest in Hamburg.
Gaining the info from LibO should cost some study, adding ifo to the
assistant will be easy.

As Soon as I se a developer fixing at least 1 Bugzillaassistant-Bug per
week I will write an Enhancement request.

Ah - so, if it is possible to document / create a URL that shows how to
mangle the component and version into the bugzilla assistant thingit,
then it's ~utterly trivial to hack that into the C++ code itself :-) But
- as you say, it's not clear (to me) how the bugzilla assistant goes
together really.

Yifan Jiang píše v St 23. 05. 2012 v 10:53 +0800:
At the moment, the test suites are divided into different priorities (P1, P2,
P3, P4), accordingly we can create test runs based on the priority:

 - For Full Regression Test of a major version is to include all priority
of cases to a test run.

 - For Regression Test of a bug fix minor version is to include high (P1
and P2) priority of cases to a test run.

Those were what we did in Litmus era.

The proposal of what test scenario belongs to what priority is described
at
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Testing/Test_Cases_Organization#Priority

Just to explain some more background :-)

Litmus allows to split test cases in two levels: test group and
subgroup. We used test groups to split by component, e.g. Writer,
Calc. We used subgroup to split by priority, e.g. P1, P2.

Moztrap has only one level called Test Suites. It allows to run only
the whole test suite. We might want to run only P1 and maybe P2
tests for bugfix releases = Yifan had the great idea to split test
suites by priorities.

Note that Moztrap allows to add any tag for each test case. We could use
the tags for marking component-specific bugs. It is easy. Test cases
authors just select from list of available tags that is provided by
administrator.

Petr

If you are asking about the form, I like it :-)

If you are asking for content, there have been many visual improvements
based on Mirek's designs recently :-) I'll screenshot them for the

[Libreoffice-qa] [ANN] LibreOffice 3.5.4 RC1 test builds available

2012-05-23 Thread Fridrich Strba
[Corrected mistake in Subject: [ANN] LibreOffice 3.5.4 RC2 test builds
available]

Hi *,

for the upcoming new version 3.5.4, the RC2 builds now start to be
available on pre-releases. This build is slated to be second release
candidate build on the way towards 3.5.4, please refer to our release
plan timings here:

 http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan#3.5_release

Builds are now being uploaded to a public (but non-mirrored - so don't
spread news too widely!) place, as soon as they're available. Grab
them here:

 http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/

If you've a bit of time, please give them a try report *critical*
bugs not yet in bugzilla here, so we can incorporate them into the
release notes. Please note that it takes approximately 24 hours to
populate the mirrors, so that's about the time we have to collect
feedback.

The list of fixed bugs relative to 3.5.4 RC1 is here:

http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/src/bugfixes-libreoffice-3-5-4-release-3.5.4.2.log

So playing with the areas touched there also greatly appreciated - and
validation that those bugs are really fixed.

Thanks a lot for your help,

Fridrich

Readers,

It is not very clear whether the latest stable version of LO has
passed qa tests. Please, where is the web page that shows the tests

Hi,

I do no know how to create such a filter rule.

The ban list seems to be rather useless, it seems that those addresses
are not added to a filter rule?

I am tending to make this list a closed one. I can't see any good reason
why that should not be done. I can subscribe for developers and set Mail
status to NomMail for all who have not subscribed (because I can imagine
why they do not want to receive lots of lots of mails from lots of
lists). That would keep away a lot of SPAM and travel.

Best regards

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] qa test results

2012-05-23 Thread Yifan Jiang
Hello,

We used to leverage Litmus as our manual test tool, QA contributors would
review the tests stored there and record their testing results for the latest
build. The testing results are fully visible:

https://tcm.documentfoundation.org/

Now we are considering to improve it to a more easy-to-use tool Moztrap. Its
running instance for experiments and evaluation can be visited:

http://vm12.documentfoundation.org/

In addition, how our overall testing are organized can be found:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA

probably the regression tests part are what you concerned:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Testing/Regression_Tests

Though Moztrap related wiki was not updated yet, please see my previous
announcement of Moztrap evealuation site for more details.
