am trying the following

This would mean that the first syllable of the lyrics is \HeblatexRedefine,
then you have a curly brace that does nothing. You have to switch manually
to Hebrew for each single syllable, see my previous posts!

not sure what it means, does the L at the end stand for left?? if so
maybe I should us an R??

What I ment was: I get on this E-Mail adress three lists (our physics list, the scigraphica-list and lily) and as I'm using KMail I see the subject, sender and date while looking through the list of mails on this adress. And I thought it would be easier just to look at the subject and you know the origin of the mail. So you could also better sort the mails. It would actually help if you provided more complete examples of
what you tried to do. If the example you show below is what you
typed in the lyrics section, I fully understand why nothing works.
First of all, you have to realize that the syllables are separated by
blanks.
If you want to include a space or any special character such as curly
braces in a syllable you have to add double quotes around the full
syllable. Thus, you probably want
mylyricsline = \lyrics{ "\\R{\\hebalef}" ... }
which should result in a \hbox{\R{\hebalef}} command in the generated
TeX file.

no, in fact it is more complicated than that. Grace notes occur in a
special "duration" type: each time-stamp has two elements, normal
time and grace time.

events occur at
(0,0)
(1/4, -1/8)

Where each pair denotes (normal-time, grace-time).
Notice that this model also neatly allows for grace notes after the
main note (just use positive grace-time), and allows grace notes
across voices to be synchronized (unsynchronized graces could be faked
using \times).
The hard part of this model is that you have to convert from nested
music expressions to grace-timing. This was a lot of work to get
right. This is also the reason that I'm reluctant to add grace-notes
after the main note, because it would involve another significant
amount of work.

You did it the other way. You should be able to escape from
the default english to hebrew. Check my example again, and
notice the order of the babel options. Only use elatex if
latex does not work.

I will try it.
The change of subject unfortunetly comes from replying to letters which
doesn't automatically go back to the list and which may not have the
same header. And being senile I sorta forget the header name.
I will try to keep the header from now on.

You are saying I think that if I get a file to work in hebrew english
latex it should work in lilypond.
