Oracle 10.2 and 11.2 on Sles10

2012-02-01 Thread Le Blanc, Frank
I have been searching for an Oracle matrix that shows Oracle Database and the
Suse Linux kernel versions it supports. I was told that there is no common
Sles10 kernel level that supports Oracle 10.2 and 11.2. I thought Sles10 SP3
would support both.
Appreciate any information.

Is it possible to upgrade from SLES10 SP4 to SLES11 SP1?

2012-02-01 Thread Ron Foster at Baldor-IS

Hello listers,

Due to other work late last year, we were unable to migrate from SLES10
SP3 to SLES11, so we migrated to SLES10 SP4 instead.

Now is the time to start looking at migrating the systems to SLES11 SP1.

However, when I go out to the Novell website and look for the How to
upgrade to SLES11 SP1, I do not see SLES10 SP4 as a supported migration
path.

Anyone know if you can migrate from SLES10 SP4 to SLES11 SP1?

Thanks,
Ron Foster

We have upgraded about 10 SLES10 SP3 guests to SLES11 SP1. Most have went
seamless. We found that an older release of cognos wouldn't run under SLES11
and that Omegamon required a TEPS/TEMS reconfiguration and an /etc/hosts
change. Oracle 10G didn't have any issues.
