The Ethernet worked fine out of the box. Just inserted the card and it
started up.

I have the opposite problem, the modem works fine but
the Ethernet does not.

How did you get the Ethernet working?

On insert, /dev/modem is linked to /dev/ttyS2, and the modem will respond

 there some
incompatabilities with ATA 66 controller cards or motherboard's that have

mine (it is a ABIT BE6) which has four onboard IDE controllers 2 for the old
 ATA33 and 2 for
 ATA66.

HardDisk 2:IBM 20GB ATA66 (not detected in bios, detected using ATA66

I had the same problem with 6.2. I have an ABIT KT7RAID board, 2 ATA33
controllers, 2 RAID ATA100's. I moved my hard drive back to the ATA33 and
the installation no longer gave me the error message. I understand the
ATA100 is supposed to be faster, but, hey, it's so fast anyway, I can live
with it.

It sounds like USB (busmastering) problems. You may have to
check your kernel source documentation for late-breaking
information about configuring your USB interfaces since this is
recent, relatively 'bleeding edge' technology.

Perhaps the kernel patches at http://www.linux-ide.org will help. Try
plugging the drives into the ATA33 controller, install linux, then try
recompiling the kernel with the patches.

Yes. You can configure gpm to handle two mice -- when you've got that
working, you can use the gpm repeater mode, which outputs the mouse data
elsewhere, and feed it into XFree86 with a suitable mouse dev and mouse type
 set up.

Use two mice here- one PS/2 one specialised serial trackball (for my
 partner, who is disabled.)

 Ta-ra,

You can also run two mice under X 4.0.x. Your XF86Config-4 file
should have "InputDevice" sections for both mice, named "Mouse1" and "Mouse2"
(or whatever, just as long as they're different). The in the "ServerLayout"
section, put this:

InputDevice "Mouse1" "CorePointer"
InputDevice "Mouse2" "SendCoreEvents" "T"

Note the extra stuff after the "InputDevice". This lets you run two (or
more?!) mice. I have both a MouseMan+ and a Cirque Smartcat running on my
computer, and they work fine. And no, I'm not using gpm at all.

I use the latest version of XCDROAST (.98test8). Easy, intuitive.

Read in the tracks you want from whatever CDs you want (making sure you
give them different names-- not all "track-05.wav).
Select the ones and the order you want them

Download and read the manual carefully, especially on the 3.3 vs

Hello,

I would use original Haupauge cards, they work on my SuSE 7.0 out of the
box...:-)

I have one other cheap card with the bt878 chip, but it's not an original
card and you have to recompile
modules outside the kernel, and fidel a bit around to get it runnig, or
say most of it, I didn't got the radio
working, but I'm in greater need for the video input which is OK.

More info:

http://www.strusel007.de/linux/bttv/index.html

My clear suggestion would be, if the higher cost is no problem for you,
buy an original haupauge card and enjoy...

Good luck

read man gpm if xwindows doesn't support it then you could always use
