Re: DVB-S2 USB device: DVBsky, Technotrend or Tevii?
Hi P., I own a DVBSky S960 device and so far it has been working fine with my DiSEqC setup (A/B) and the vendor supplied drivers. From my experience the driver is updated frequently and thus compiles with recent kernels most of the time. Unfortunately integration into the mainline kernel is on halt due to copyright and code issues as well as (obviously) personal/competitive differences (see http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-media/msg46802.html for example). I haven't tested any other DVB-S2 USB devices so far. For that reason I cannot help you with selecting the right one. However, I would be interested in any recommendations myself. - Felix -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line unsubscribe linux-media in the body of a message to majord...@vger.kernel.org More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html

Maybe you want to consider buying it from abroad? DVB-S2 USB device: DVBsky, Technotrend or Tevii?
Hi, I want to buy a DVB-S2 USB device. The following are available here (all Montage tuner/demod): Mystique SaTiX-S2 (DVBsky S860 clone) (M88TS2020/M88DS3000) Mystique SaTiX-S2 v2 (DVBsky S960 clone) (M88TS2022/M88DS3103) TechnoTrend Connect S2-4600 (M88TS2022/M88DS3103) TeVii S660 (M88TS2020/M88DS3000) Wiki links: http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVBSKY_S860 http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVBSKY_S960 http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/TechnoTrend_TT-connect_S2-4600 http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/TeVii_S660 Only the S660 is supported, but it has serious DiSEqC issues according to wiki, plus it's the most expensive, so it's not very attractive. Is there any hope/chance one of the others could be made to work with v4l-dvb? I've noticed liplian supports everything, but I don't think that's the most future-proof option.
