alternative access to files at support.dell.com? - looking for SAS 5/iR firmware...
Greetings, I'm looking for the latest firmware for the SAS 5/iR RAID controller on a PowerEdge 860, the RHEL5 binary version where I can apply the update from within the OS. (support.dell.com is completely down for me and I can't browse to locate the file) Anyone know the direct FTP link? Thanks in advance! -- pjf ___ Linux-PowerEdge mailing list Linux-PowerEdge@dell.com https://lists.us.dell.com/mailman/listinfo/linux-poweredge Please read the FAQ at http://lists.us.dell.com/faq
Poweredge servers running in low temperature environment
We are installing a couple of PE servers (2900 and R710) at our summit facility. Ambient temperature can be as low as 1C (dewpoint at -15C). Apart from annoying "low ambient temperature" warnings from OMSA, is there anything to be concerned about? Is it feasible to adjust fan RPM settings? Thanks for any comments/suggestions, Philip J. The OM 6.2 server update utility (SUU) disc that was released in December was pulled and replaced with a new version last week. The DRAC5 firmware going from 1.5 to 1.51 was one of the changes. I just updated the yum repo yesterday to reflect the new SUU disc. Firmware repository out of date
Looks like the firmware repo is falling out of date. This happened before when it was unofficial. Maybe now that it is official something can be done? Re: Lifecycle Controller not-so slick IMO.
I tried using the local ftp repository but that doesn't work on 1.0 which is why I have to upgrade to 1.3 and then point it to the local ftp repository. Does DMC include a repository manager or do we have to use DRM? Dell uses and contributes to open source software in a lot of ways - including using the SBLIM and openwsman stack on Linux for future systems management projects. Re: Lifecycle Controller not-so slick IMO.
Just a question before spending a lot of time to setup this process for Linux OS (the examples are for windows). Does someone have scripts they can share for automatically update the firmware for M610? We can setup our local ftp mirror that is not a problem.
