Stefano the one that gives the errors defines some new latex of mine,
Stefano is there any possibility that I'm breaking something? I only
Stefano redefine heading looks, headers, bib format and other small

Did you generate those two pstex_t files with the same version of
xfig?

Hi Jean-Marc,

Stefano Hi everyone, I'm trying to use pstex figures, generated with
Stefano xfig, as suggested also in the User's Guide. My problem is
Stefano that things work in one directory but not in another, and I
 Stefano cannot figure out why.

Although this is probably not the problem here, please use
\input{fig1.pstex_t} to include a figure. The syntax you use is the
TeX syntax, and is not considered proper LaTeX. You can also directly
 use Insert-Include_File.

You were right: I should have used {} or Include File from the beginning
You were wrong: that was the problem! Now it works (with Include at
least), thanks a lot!

On the other hand, I have to say in my defense that I was following the
User's Guide. I do not know if this has been updated in the pre1 series,
still using .12.

All the best,
Stefano

I also noticed that the .pstex file is a fairly nice ps file, you can
include it as it was an eps figure, in fact. So I think one could add
support for this format, since it's also advised in the User's Guide. I
don't think it would be necessary to place the text wysiwyg-like in lyx,
that would be a disproportionate effort probably. But it would be enough
to be able to see that ps part and have the .pstex_t one included
automatically. Maybe a line like "text will be read from file xxx" near
 the textless figure.

Me too!

Aehm... oops... sorry ;-)

Sometimes, being wrong is nice :)

I think this has been fixed now. Could you tell me where exactly you found the

Ok,
it was not the problem... it appeared to work only because I had used
"include" intead than "input"...

Yes... 3.2 patchlevel 0-beta4.
No problem, for the moment it was not crucial... but I'd like to get it
working sooner or later.

4.3.2 Xfig and Lyx, just at the end:

"Then you just have to include the LaTex part with \input foo.ps_tex_t"

note also that the extension is not what xfig spits out, .pstex

Stefano

Yes, it is still there. Yet another thing to correct.
