You could fake it using a table (instead of a matrix).

An example is attached -> if the brackets are too far from the matrix, I
am sure
that some playing with table-cell-widths could help ?

I had the same problem with existing documents the last two times I updated
Lyx. I thought I was the only one. :-) The only solution I found was the old
"copy and paste". But that was when I had only 5 pages written. I hope I find
another way before I have to copy 30 pages next time. Has anybody another
solution?

Hmmm, quite tricky. I've appended a LyX file, second and third version
are looking quite good? Sure this is a bit complicated, perhaps there's
a better solution, but how?

Perhaps you should omit the brackets and use a tabular layout like I did
in the last trial...

I've tried matrices of matrices but i don't like the results.. Is ther

Jose, thanks for the suggestion. It worked quite nicely... now, is it a
problem with LyX exporting to SGML that is the problem here? Shouldn't it
have parsed the URL and noticed the embedded & and thus converted it to
& ???

Now, if I only knew what an entity was... :) I'm learning as I go...

I get this same error message on mine too. I sent out a help request to this list

either, unless I missed it. I thought it was 'buggy RH6' but if you get it on

Arg! LyX 1.0.4 and RedHat 6.1

1999-10-11 Thread David Nedrow

OK, I give.

I have the default installation of RedHat 6.1 and have installed LyX
1.0.4 (via RPM).

If I use any of the templates (docbook, etc.) I get errors when trying to
create the DVI or postscript versions. For example, the docbook template
always generates a "! LaTeX Error: Missing \begin{document}." error.

If I simply create a new document without a template, it appears to work
fine. Also, since LyX no longer exports SGML, how do I use sgml-tools'
(v1.0.9) sgml2rtf to create rtf files? I know sgmltools v2 is out there,
but it appears to make things worse if anything.

Any ideas what (if anything) I'm doing wrong?

I'm running lyx on a Pentium II 350 within a tetex-latex 0.9.2. I've got some
trouble on importing ps picutres.

whem I import it, it gets ok on the screan, but whem I try to produce *dvi or

What's the best solution?

\( \text{\large{$\varepsilon$}} \)

Please change that by hand and replace the first & with & and tell me if
that works...

The problem is that &method is viewed as an entity. I don't have the

1999-10-11 Thread Varotto Riccardo

Hi,

I want to obtain the follow line in the .tex file:

\text{\large{$\varepsilon$}}

directly from LyX: is it possible?

I try in severe way, but I always obtain from LyX:

\text{\large{\$ \varepsilon \$}}

thank you

Riccardo Varotto.
