Problem w/ language of interface after update
Dear list members, I compiled LyX 1.1.2 successfully a few days ago and installed it to replace the 1.0.1 version that came with my SuSE Linux 6.2. Since that time, however, the language of the interface (menues, dialogue boxes etc.) has changed from German to English. What did I do wrong: is there a switch I have to use when compiling the program, or is there another way to change back to a German interface without having to recompile LyX? list off
I just received the following message: [1] The electricity in the building (DUNN) will be off Dec 27-29 (M-W), maybe even the 30th, but probably not. Physical Plant is having to change out major switch. This means the users, devel and announce lists will be down for this period. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about this. There may be a possibilty to move the lists temporarily to another machine, but that seems to be more trouble than it is worth (visualize changing DNS entries and list manager config files and friends). While I will be in Hungary from Dec 19-Jan 7, I will try to make sure that apart from the above dates, all will be functional. Mate

Hi, how do I use algorithm float? I've already created the algorithm float fromt he menus and have put \usepackage{algorithm} in my preamble. But are there specific commands within the float that I can use, say to indent text, bold etc. Can someone give me a simple example? Do I need to use LaTeX commands within the float, and if so where can I get a list of commandsa Yahoo search did not reveal much. Thanks. __ Do You Yahoo!? Thousands of Stores. Millions of Products. In a simpler word document (only text) it went well. I hope it'd be better in future. Best Regards Emanuele

This is an addaption of a suggestion sent to the brazilian TeX mailing list (I did not try it). Put in the preamble: \makeatletter \renewcommand{\@cite}[2]{{#1\if@tempswa : #2\fi}} %%% 1,2: obs in text \renewcommand{\@biblabel}[1]{#1} %%% 1 in references \makeatother Casantos
list off
I just received the following message: [1] The electricity in the building (DUNN) will be off Dec 27-29 (M-W), maybe even the 30th, but probably not. Mate

Please do and I'll add it to the almost non-existent docs. Hang on I seem to remember reading a comment in the header of the IEEEtran.cls about a font problem. I'm nowhere near a copy at present but you might like to look and see if yours says anything. > I found yet another problem with IEEEtran though: It prints the page number > on page 1 (only on the 1st page) even though I select empty in the Layout > Document. > > My new questions are: How can I change the IEEEtran layout to fix the > problem? Should I look in IEEEtran.layout or IEEEtran.cls? add as either a latex paragraph or as tex: \thispagestyle{empty} near the title. I forgot to put that in the new template file also. If you don't know what I mean look at the latex8 template that came with lyx : /usr/local/share/lyx/template/ or some similar path where you installed lyx. Allan. (ARRae)
