Re: points de suspensions
Oups ! Sorry, I thought this is a french list... Yes, french Babel is loaded, and the french normal "..." has no non-breaking spaces as english form has. My question about replace simple space with non-breaking spaces is to quote a verbatim. For exemple: "I'm very glade to be here" (N, L45) I need a non-breaking spaces between "N," and "L45" to avoid this: "I'm very glade to be here" (N, L45) I did type the text and so I'd like to use find/replace if possible... Re: shared library run problem
I compiled both qt and lyx from source. The installation instructions for qt did not mention anything about this issue and it is working fine. Is there any way to send the parameter while configuring lyx so that the compilation is done against the 32 -bit instead ? I am using the 64-bit ubuntu. 5 questions from a new user
Hello, I'm a linguistics-student and want to switch from Word to Lyx (on Windows). I have 5 beginner-questions: 1. I've read, that it is needed to install spellcheck-dictionaries for other languages and additional modules (e.g. for linguistic documents) seperately. Where do I find these and how do I install them so that Lyx uses them? 2. Does the bundle-installer that includes all additional software that is needed, install all programs or does it only include these programs but I have to install each of them seperately? 3. If I want to update Lyx do I only have to install the not bundled? But how can I keep Latex, Ghostscript, etc. up to date? 4. I've read on the english download-page that the bundle includes Cygwin. Is this also needed for Lyx on Windows? Because on the german download page is the information, that the cygwin-version is another one. And the bundled version of the english download-page is missing there. 5. How do I enter em-dashes and en-dashes in Lyxx? I hope you can help me, Pascal

pdf viewer problem on mac
I have incorrectly displayed fonts when I view or update PDF from LyX with Skim or Preview but not Adobe Reader. I need to then quit all open applications and kill the ATSServer as discussed in http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20070627212154574 . My question is whether this is a problem which will be fixed with Snow Leopard (<10.6.7)? Or is there some other permanent fix? Also, Skim gives the message 'Unable to load file', which I have to accept. Is this related? LyX 1.6.9 OSX 10.5.8

It also looks as if LyX is copying it to your temporary directory, and THEN LaTeX isn't finding it. This may be due to some changes in how local files are handled in 2.0.2. I'd suggest that you put the bst file in some location where LaTeX will find it without its having to be copied to the temporary directory. Where this is on Mac, I'm afraid I do not know. After you get this error, you might also look in the temporary directory. Is the referenced file there? Richard

It looks to me as if maybe your textclass.lst file is from an older installation. I'd recommend moving your +AH4-/.lyx directory somewhere else, and letting LyX generate a new one. You could also try starting LyX from a terminal with: +AKAAoACg- +ACY-gt; lyx -userdir /tmp/lyxtmp to generate a temporary user directory, and see if that helps. If so, we know where the problem is. > II. These can be installed from CTAN, worst case. In Fedora, one can do: +AKAAoACg- +ACY-gt; sudo yum install texlive-revtex texlive-revtex4 I don't know if there's an equivalent in Ubuntu. Richard
shared library run problem
hello forum, I just managed to compile LyX from source and it compiled fine. The qt path is mentioned while configuring and configuring. Now when i try to run "lyx" or "lyxclient" i get the following error: / sajjad@sajjad:~$ lyxclient: error while loading shared libraries: libQtGui.so.4: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32 Any hint to debug this problem. I do not have much of an option other than compiling from source . So i request some one in the forum to help me out to debug this problem. Thanks Sajjad
bibtex references not in compiled document...

Including landscape lyx document to portrait document
Hi! I have two documents. Another is in landscape and main document is portrait format. Both have same paper size. How do I include the landscape document and how do I get the labels working from there? Or am I asking something impossible or is it just unholy union where is nothing good? I found that I can insert pdf and it looks quite nice. Except there are double page numbers and referencing labels doesn't work. Ayn ideas? Best regards, Hannu Vuolasaho
Making "Appendix" word display as part of TOC
Hi Is there a way to prepend Appendixes in the Table of Contents by the word Appendix? At the moment the only change in my TOC is the numbering but I would like to make a clear distinction between content and Appendix. The lyx user manual does not make mention of how to do this nor does the manual itself do what I want as I could have used the user manual source as example. A second price might be to just say Appendix A, rather than A for which I have found a way of doing. Regards -- Gerhardus Geldenhuis
