svjour3 & algorithm float broken in 2.0.3
Hello The svjour3 class used to work fine in Lyx 2.0, even with the algorithm float. I just upgraded to Lyx 2.0.3 on two different computers, and I get the error, ! LaTeX Error: No counter 'chapter' defined. See the LaTeX manual or LaTeX Companion for explanation. Type H for immediate help. ... l.22 \newfloat{algorithm}{tbp}{loa}[chapter] Any advice on getting around this? I checked the layouts, and they're not introducing this. regards john perry

You may even open a pdf viewer with file watching capabilities on the exported file before you start working on it and you'd enjoy the same advantages as working on a file residing temp directory. In fact, now that I think of, why isn't this LyX's standard behavior (as it is, e.g., in Kile)? Re: LyX 2.0.3
finally I took the risk to install 2.0.3 without uninstalling LyX 1.6.10 and both are working properly. However, even after having installed Aspell-fr-0.50-3, LyX 2.0.3 claims that no dictionnary are installed. When you are looking in the preference, spell checker is freezed on "Hunspell" !!! Any clue to install and have the proper spell checker recognized ? Customize Copier in LyX
I am writing something using LyX in Windows. I just want a simple funtion that every time I run pdfletex, the pdf file can be copied to the same folder in which the lyx file is. As these files will be sycronized by Dropbox, I can reat it on iPhone or iPad. I know that this has been discribed in Customization.lyx as a simple example. However, I have no idea of how Python works and how to make photocopier.sh executable. I don't have too much time to look into this and it will be highly appreciated if anyone can give me a simple script or compiled file to have this function. Thanks in advance! Best regards, Xi Zhang

Not necessarily, for the former installer, I feel remembering that Üwe was writing to install straight away (being noted that you have been using already the Alt installer), but presently there is no recommendation so why I am asking. Otherwise, I will uninstall and reinstall but uninstalling oblige you to download the bundle to reinstall MikTex Regards Paul -Message d'origine- From: Richard Heck Sent: Thursday, March 29, 2012 3:38 PM To: KooShee Cc: lyx-users@lists.lyx.org Subject: Re: LyX 2.0.3 On 03/28/2012 06:20 PM, KooShee wrote: Hi, Coming from 1.6.10 with MikTex installed and updated. Coloured Sidebar to highlight text passage?
Hello LyX-Community, Is there a LaTeX/TeX command or package to produce a text sidebar which could be changed in colour and width? I would need this to highlight text passages (e.g. Definitions) for a textbook. At the moment the only way I can think of to produce a sidebar would be a tabular environment. I wonder if there is no other possibility, a feature where I could define a new paragraph style or a similar easy usage. Thanks in advance, Peter

I remember that in TeX, some settings can only be changed per paragraph. I don't know whether this also holds for line spacing. OTOH, the spacing also depends on on which place the size-changing commands are issued (in relation to line wrapping or hard line breaks). One option/workaround would be to re-set the linespacing after the change of size in ERT. I would export the paragraph to LaTeX and experiment. If this does not lead to a solution, please post a minimal working example for others to try. Günter
