generate list of changes by track changes
Hi all, I have been using the change tracking feature and it is great. However, I am trying to get a complete list of changes at the end of the document, something like blah blah is added on page 123 blah blah is removed on page 234 etc...etc The only way I could think of is to create a new crossref at those changes, and cross referencing it at the changelog, preserving the page number at the PDF output. Is there any simple way to achieve this changelog feature? Thanks. Abe
Re: generate list of changes by track changes
The package changes provides such a feature. I think it is possible to rewrite LyX's \lyxchangeadded and \lyxchangedeleted to wrap the changes package. (In LyX 1.6.0, one could even write a module for that). Jürgen I was trying to use changes with \listofchanges, I could only produce something like: Autor: Anonym Eingefügt: 1 Gelöscht: 0 Ersetzt: 1 which I suppose it means the number of \replaced and \added. However, I cannot manage to get it print out the entire list of changes like: blah blah is added on page 123 blah blah is removed on page 234 etc...etc Unfortunately the doc doesn't have any example on how the \listofchanges should look like. Any hint? Thx

Times Roman vs Latin Modern Roman Font
Hi all, I am wondering what's the difference between Times Roman and Latin Modern Roman font. I have read from the mailing list that the Latin Modern Roman (lmodern) package is preferred over the default Computer Modern Roman. However, I can't find any information about Times Roman. The Times Roman font looks much better on screen and this is the only difference I could tell from a brief look. Is there any disadvantage when compared to Latin Modern Roman? or is it just a matter of preference? Thanks, Abe

last content entry of minitoc touching the bottom horizontal line
Using an ams book document class, and minitoc, the last line of the toc entry is almost touching the bottom horizontal line. is there anyway to get minitoc leave some vertical space before the ending toc line? e.g. Chapter 1 1.1 blah blah 1.1.1 blah blah blah can I have more space here? The text and the line are touching! --- Abe

how to convert bib file with valid escape sequence
As pointed out by Juergen, I should save my bibtex file as latin1 encoding because I would likely get into problem with a UTF-8 encoded bibliography. He further pointed out I should get all non-ascii character escaped. I resaved my existing bibliography in JabRef using latin-1 encoding, and all my child document works fine. The problem arise when I build from my master document, and I get tons of error: e.g. Missing $ inserted. .. Surg Br}, 84-B\penalty0 (SUPP_ I):\penalty0 65--c, \url Missing \endgroup inserted {http://proceedings.ieee/cgi/content/abstract/84-B/SUPP_I/... The control sequence at the end of the top line Latex Error: Lonely Item -- Perhaps a missing \list environment etc It looks like it is because my bib is not properly escaped. I am wondering what is the best way to apply proper escape sequence to existing bibliography database (~200 entries). Juergen suggested using recode l1..ltex myfile.bib but mentioned there maybe chance that it mis-transform \ to \backslash. Despite the backslash problem (-d option just give me Recoding reference_articles.bib... failed: Untranslatable input in step `ISO-8859-1..LaTeX', and failed to convert), my doc now compiles without error. At the same time, all my bibliography attached at the end of the doc is almost empty with a few a. b. c. as the first character! and my bib is formatted like this: @ARTICLE\{someone2008, author = \{someone\}, title = \{The title\}, journal = \{J something\}, year = \{2008\}, Any insight on how I should fix the problem, or deal with the problem is very much appreciated. how to set a larger font size in amsbook
It looks to me that I could only choose a maximum base font size of 12 in amsbook. Is there any way I could use a slightly larger font size, e.g. 13/14? modify unsw layout to change alignment
Hi, Mark has provided a handy UNSW thesis layout based on the amsbook for lyx ( http://www.threewordslong.com/blog/entry/63/A_LyX_Thesis_Layout_for_UNSW_T) and I found it pretty nice in general for what I need, saving a lot of hassle of creating all the required pages from scratch. However, I would like to make a few changes and not very sure how I can do that without messing with the lengthy amsbook style. 1. Bigger fonts for all the chapter/section/subsection 2. Change the Chapter/Section to be Left aligned 3. A new line for subsubsection I have tried to change the class to book/memoir style and it looks obvious that the layout doesn't work because some of the preambles depend on amsbook stuff (my guess). Any idea would be much appreciated.
