There is a latex command around that may help you. If I can remember it is called \clearpage or if two-sided \cleardoublepage. The correct syntax and the options to these command is in every latex book. Re: How do you include both section* and section in TOC ?
---Reply to mail from Maarten Afman about How do you include both section* and section in TOC ? > My question is the following short one: > How do you include both unnumbered sections and numbered sections in > TOC? You can use for the numbered sections the normal "section" and "chapter" enviroment. For the unnumbert sections use "addcap" and "addsect" envirments. Re: wide tables
Hi! This is not a nice behavoir. You can enter at that position that the line break should be a conrol+enter secence. That produces normaly the linefeed command ("\\" in Latex) but in tables it produces a linefeed on the screen. It isn't affecting the printed document. Try it. TeX/LyX style for a C library handbook
Hi! I'm looking for a TeX/LyX style for a C library handbook. This includes descriptions of C functions, examples and tables, prototypes and parameter lists - a typical description of the functions of a library. I had been trying around for a while, but I haven't had any good ideas. Re: Problems with eps-graphics
Hi! I solved my problem, but it was not easy... The installation of the Adobe printer driver did not work. The resulting postscript was looking mutch better, but it was not scaleable (rescaling) any more. I used the AdobePS 5.1 Printer for NT 4.0 with the Adobe Destiller printer as PPA. I used "generate eps" also... . But I solved the problem, so that it is working for me. Here is a discription how I integrate output from Windows NT into Lyx/Latex. I hope it is helpful: 1. Print to File using the printer QMS 820 v51.1. This printer was adviced to work in some Latex newsgroups. Not every printer is working because in eps there are several ps commands forbitten. 2. run program "ps2epsi". It procudes an preview bitmap and removes the page information and adds the bounding box infos. 3. The output is not well, but resizing and rotation is functional. The increase quality of the output add a linie of ps code to the epsi file: 106 45 {dup mul exch dup mul add 1.0 exch sub} setscreen It should be placed behind the preample. It defines how the halftones are calculated. I am not sure if this is somethink optimal or what the exact meaning of each parameter is, but it works well for me. I found it in some book. It is enough to put it in the beginning of the exported ps file. I hope this informations are useful for someone. Also thank you for your previous supplies... . Problems with eps-graphics
Hello! Lyx is great and thank you for the help from this maillist. I have got another problem. I integrate eps graphics using "Insert->Figure->Encapsulated Postscript" to include my graphics. The graphics are produced with the QMS 820 v51.2 printer driver in Windows (using excel as the application). Then I run ps2epsi which produces the eps files. All works fine, but the resolution of the graphics is (I think that, because it looks like) always 300 dpi (or less). I print it on a 600dpi Laser printer (HPLJ 5si MX/PS). The text is printed in 600 dpi, but if there is some grey parts the raster is quite big and not 600dpi. Where is the problem, because I thought eps is scaleable in the scope of that I can move from one to an better printer without problems Thank you, Andreas \|/ 0(o o)0 -oo00--(_)--00oo------- Andreas Jahnen Fachhochschule Trier Fachbereich: Angewandte Informatik -- E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] WWW : http://www.FH-Trier.de/~jahnena ooO0000Ooo --( )( )--- \ ( ) / \_)(_/
Re: Math set Symbols
Thank you for your help. But I think this symbols are not what I am searching for. I have included a small grafic which shows the results. I think the \Re (which is the first on the picture) is used to display real part of complex numbers. The second on the picture is only a outlined R. I think for the moment, that it is a special font. I am going to try a new font which I found on the following page: http://www.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/TGI/mitarbeiter/wimis/kummer/ds_eng.html this weekend. There it is stated that this font is for real number and so on. But it is also possible (I am not a professional mathematical typesetter) that I am wrong with my oppinion of the correct symbol... . Any suggestions where to find the correct font? I saw also some documents, which looked like that they used Latex. There had been the correct symbols. But no source-code had been available. Hi! I am searching symbols for printing mathematical reel numbers (something like |R or |N). I found it in the ams fonts, but I don't know how to activate this and display the symbols . Re: x window problem
I have got the same Problem. I am running Lyx on different computers. All of them are (updated) Suse 6.0 intel maschines. The problem is only on one of the maschines. If you start the application lyx comes up with the full (and korrekt) window. Then ist crashes directly. I had tryed to figure out somethink with the debugger, but there was no time to do sirious thinks. I guess that it is a xforms problem, but I havn't seen that before. My xforms version is .88. I think that is OK. Any suggestions how to proceed? Tank you!
