Space between lines at the same size shows differently

2012-01-14 Thread Kenedy Torcatt
Hello guys...

I'm trying to stablish the same space between header and title on 1.5.
And I don't know why the header looks bigger than title. I'm attaching
the pdf and lyx in a .zip  file for you to review.
What am I doing wrong?

Thankyou

Numbering by section showed wrong!

2011-11-26 Thread Kenedy Torcatt
Hello LyX Users...

I need to show in my thesis figures and equations by sections, but LyX
is showing them wrong. I mean I activate the module
using: Document→Settings→Modules and add the module Number equations
by section and the same for figures, but when
I change a section the figures is not showing from 1 like it should,
For example, ilustrating this:

-Section 1

Figure 1.1

-Section 2

Figure 2.2 ( I need 2.1, then 2.2, .and on)

The same thing occur with equations!
That's the problem I'm facing it...
Please help me with this, should I add some code in the preamble?

Thankyou in advance!

How to change numeration size and upper case

2011-10-30 Thread Kenedy Torcatt
Hello, I have LyX 2.0, using urw-arial, calling the packege with this
code in the preamble:

\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage[scaled]{uarial}
\renewcommand*\familydefault{\sfdefault}

I realized that roman numbers are so tiny and lower case. I need them
upper case a bit bigger.
Arabic numbers are fine.

How could I achieve that?

P.S:_ for roman numbers I used this in the preamble:

\renewcommand{\thepage}{\roman{page}}
\setcounter{page}{1}

Thankyou!

Can I Install a New TeX font in LyX?

2011-10-29 Thread Kenedy Torcatt
Hello Guys. I' a windows user and using LyX 2.0.

I need to use Arial font for my documents, I tried deactivating TeX
Fonts and choose Arial from my windows installed fonts, after that I
tried to compile with Xetex but I'm just getting errors!

I know that Helvetiva is almost an Arial clone and I can select
Helvetica from TeX fonts from sans serif 's drop down menu, but I did
a research and found that urw-arial
located here: http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/urw/arial/ is an
Arial font pack for use with LaTeX. I need to know how to install it
and show it in the LyX dropdown menu for sans serif 's fonts the same
way as selecting Helvetica.

I could notice that in latex code appear \usepackage{helvet} when I
select it in the drop down menu, so I think is possible to do the same
thing for the urw-arial. After all it will be just adding another font
to LyX.

I need to know how to do that... A tutorial or something please.

Please help!
Thankyou in advance...

Using Arial font! LyX help...

2011-10-23 Thread Kenedy Torcatt
I saw that now we can use the windows fonts (LyX 2.0) selecting them in a
drop down menu after tick No tex typography.
My problem is that when i do that I always get an LyX error saying:

 \char_make_active:n

{20}%

The control sequence at the end of the top line

of your error message was never \def'ed. If you have

misspelled it (e.g., `\hobx'), type `I' and the correct

spelling (e.g., `I\hbox'). Otherwise just continue,

and I'll forget about whatever was undefined.

I don't know why is this happening...

I really apprecciate your help! ;-)

Help With (Section*) LyX and Index of the Document *Critical*

2011-10-18 Thread Kenedy Torcatt
Hello, I have been using LyX for while, I've prepared my thesis and I have a
problem with the index and the PDF file. I'll try to be as clear as possible
here.

-Things to know: I'm using Document type article

*Clarifying this with my real example *

In mi case with the two first chapters:

Chapter 1 (corresponding to section) (Number on the left side)
1.1(corresponding to subsection)
1.2(corresponding to subsection)
1.3(corresponding to subsection)
1.4(corresponding to subsection)

Chapter 2 (corresponding to section) (Number on the left side)
2.1(corresponding to subsection)
2.2(corresponding to subsection)
2.3(corresponding to subsection)

When I insert Section for my chapters they show a number to the left side
when I render the file to PDF.
The subsections show the number as well beginning with number 1, then 1.1,
1.2 and on goes on...

Ok, now I know that's the right thing it should be happening. But, I don't
want the number on the left side of my chapter name, just for the
subsections.
I tried changing this to Section* but after that the new chapter
subsections appeared numbered as continuing the subsections from the last
chapter.
I mean:

Chapter 1 (corresponding to section)
1.1(corresponding to subsection)
1.2(corresponding to subsection)
1.3(corresponding to subsection)
1.4(corresponding to subsection)

Chapter 2 (corresponding to section*) (without number on the left side)
1.5(corresponding to subsection)
1.6(corresponding to subsection)
1.7(corresponding to subsection)

*I don't want that either. I need this:*

Chapter 1 (corresponding to section*) (without number on the left side)
1.1(corresponding to subsection)
1.2(corresponding to subsection)
1.3(corresponding to subsection)
1.4(corresponding to subsection)

Chaprter 2 (corresponding to section*) (without number on the left side)
2.1(corresponding to subsection)
2.2(corresponding to subsection)
2.3(corresponding to subsection)

I tried Inserting the code below after Section and before Subsection

 \addtocounter{section}{1}

*That doesn't fix the issue either because the result in the PDF is *

Chapter 1 (corresponding to section*) (without number on the left side)
1.1(corresponding to subsection)
1.2(corresponding to subsection)
1.3(corresponding to subsection)
1.4(corresponding to subsection)

Chapter 2 (corresponding to section*) (without number on the left side)
2.5(corresponding to subsection)
2.6(corresponding to subsection)
2.7(corresponding to subsection)

As you can see the subsection from chapter 2 continue counting after 4 and
not beginning from 1.

Besides that, in order for this to work I need obviously to change chapter 1
ans 2 to section* but inside the LyX interface appear
the subsections established as subsection with 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 . and on!

So I'm having 2 issues now with that crappy solutions that I tried.

Here you have some print screens of my thesis to clarify:

About the PDF problem counting from 4 in chapter 2:
http://howtoplaypianohq.com/sshot-1.jpg

About confusing LyX interface if I change the section to section*:
http://howtoplaypianohq.com/sshot-2.jpg

*So wrapping up, I need this:*

1.2(corresponding to subsection)
1.3(corresponding to subsection)
1.4(corresponding to subsection)

Chapter 2 (corresponding to section*) (without number on the left side)
2.1(corresponding to subsection)
2.2(corresponding to subsection)
2.3(corresponding to subsection)

Please help me with this. Maybe it sound like a dummy thing but it's
critical for me...

the subsections established as "subsection" with 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 .

Chapter 1 (corresponding to "section*") (without number on the left side)
1.1(corresponding to "subsection")
1.2(corresponding to "subsection")
1.3(corresponding to "subsection")
1.4(corresponding to "subsection")

Chapter 2 (corresponding to "section*") (without number on the left side)
2.1(corresponding to "subsection")
2.2(corresponding to "subsection")
2.3(corresponding to "subsection")

Please help me with this. Maybe it sound like a dummy thing but it's
critical for me...
Thank you in advance!

Arial fonts LyX Windows

2011-10-18 Thread Kenedy Torcatt
Hello, first of all, I'm a windows user. I've installed LyX 2.0 recently and
I saw that now we can use the windows fonts selecting them in a drop down
menu after tick No tex typography.
My problem is that when i do that I always get an LyX error saying:

 \char_make_active:n

{"20}%

The control sequence at the end of the top line

of your error message was never \def'ed. If you have

misspelled it (e.g., `\hobx'), type `I' and the correct

spelling (e.g., `I\hbox'). Otherwise just continue,

and I'll forget about whatever was undefined.

I don't know why is this happening... please help me, I just need Arial font
and that's it!

Thankyou in advance...
