Re: LyX 1.3.4 qt version and dead keys after KDE 3.2.3 upgrade

KDE has a "international keyboard tool". Everytime I tried to use it, I screwed up my keyboard completely, but my colleagues use it sucessfully to switch between different keyboard layouts. This could explain why a kde upgrade affected the dead keys, but I too do not see any reason why "LyX qt needs KDE". I have done the same KDE upgrade and I have not experienced the reported problem. It might have happened that Qt was not updated accordingly. (I remember that I also upgraded something related with Qt - libraries, perpahs - when I was upgrading KDE.) Paul

LyX 1.3.4 qt version and dead keys after KDE 3.2.3 upgrade
I decided to downgrade to KDE 3.2 Mandrake 10.0 Official. The dead keys bug was present not only in LyX and Kword but in other qt apps like Scribus. I found no comments about this possible bug on KDE's site. 158 rpm to remove and almost as much to reinstall... But everything went fine and the dead key bug is out. LyX qt needs KDE even if I mainly use WindowMaker... Raymond -- Édité et transmis avec des logiciels libres sous Linux !
LyX 1.3.4 qt version and dead keys after KDE 3.2.3 upgrade
Québec, le 9 août 2004 I just upgrade KDE to KDE 3.2.3 (Mandrake, officials packages at kde.org). Everything went fine except 2 apps not recognising dead keys: LyX qt and Kwriter. I use ca_enhanced keyboard. The dead keys used to compose è, ù, ô, ç, ë for example work perfectly in X or in a console (text mode). But LyX 1.3.4 qt refuses to use dead keys giving me `e, `u, ^o, ,c or ¨e instead. Where can I look to change this behavior? I did not have this problem before the upgrade to kde 3.2.3. Do someone have a hint? Raymond -- Édité et transmis avec des logiciels libres sous Linux !
