Maybe it is not worth to mention in this thread, but IBM Thinkpad's TrackPoint does not scroll LyX at all, but this may be a driver problem of cooperation with Qt. 2008/6/30 Igor [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Abdelrazak Younes [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: The fix will make it into next 1.6beta and probably also into 1.5.6. See below 1) It's set in the control panel, MouseWheelVertical scrolling, One screen at a time, which works in all the other applications. 2) Ok, I've removed C:\Users\rych\AppData\Roaming\lyx16 and started LyX. The folder was recreated, didn't change anything. 3) EditingKeyboard/... Mouse wheel speed is 1.0. I tried to change it but is doesn't matter, as there's no scrolling anyway, no matter at what speed. EditingShortcutsCursor, Mouse... screen_down is empty, but can I really put a mouse wheel action as a shortcut? What would be the name then? MWD?

Unfortunately I can now confirm on WindowsXpProSP2 too: installed 1.5.5 (mouse scrolling 1 line at a time in the "wrong" direction, don't know how to customize it); then installed LyX-16beta3-4-05-AltInstaller-Small.exe into a different directory: mouse wheel does not scroll, but is equivalent to Ctrl+Home Hi Igor, I cannot reproduce your problem but I have two advices that could perhaps help: 1) Check your wheel mouse settings in the Windows configuration panel 2) erase your personal lyx directory (the one containing the preferences file) 3) try to tune the LyX wheel scrolling thanks to the new preference settings in the 'Editing' section of the preference dialog. I'm now thinking in the direction "are there shortcuts for mouse wheel actions?" See below 1) It's set in the control panel, Mouse>Wheel>Vertical scrolling, "One screen at a time", which works in all the other applications. 2) Ok, I've removed C:\Users\rych\AppData\Roaming\lyx16 and started LyX. The folder was recreated, didn't change anything. 3) Editing>Keyboard/... "Mouse wheel speed" is 1.0. I tried to change it but is doesn't matter, as there's no scrolling anyway, no matter at what speed. Editing>Shortcuts>Cursor, Mouse...> screen_down is empty, but can I really put a mouse wheel action as a shortcut? What would be the name then? "MWD"?

OK, could you please launch lyx at the command line with lyx -dbg scrolling And report back please. Could you also try some other settings here, I guess LyX doesn't know about this kind of Page settings. 2) Ok, I've removed C:\Users\rych\AppData\Roaming\lyx16 and started LyX. Ok, I can confirm that with LyX 1.5.5/Win XP Home and my trackball wheel set to scroll one screen at a time, LyX scrolls one line at a time in the reverse direction. I normally have it set to scroll one line at a time, which works as expected. /Paul

Sorry, by here you mean where exactly? Sorry, I meant the Windows control panel. Try Ctrl-Alt-PageDown/Up and Ctrl-Alt-ArrowDown/Up Those do work as expected. I would like the functionality of Ctrl-Alt-PageDown/Up to be bounded to mouse wheel up/down Don't worry, we'll manage to fix that bug hopefully. The full debugging log is below, I see, thanks. This was just a matter of reading the Qt docs actually: wheelScrollLines : int This property holds the number of lines to scroll when the mouse wheel is rotated. If this number exceeds the number of visible lines in a certain widget, the widget should interpret the scroll operation as a single "page up" or "page down" operation instead. Access functions: The fix will make it into next 1.6beta and probably also into 1.5.6. Abdel.

mouse wheel scrolling
I've been trying different versions of LyX. In the 1.5.x mouse wheel scrolled only 3 lines (want screen at a time) and in the opposite direction that is set on my system (Vista64) Now I've installed the alternative installer 1.6 beta 3. Mouse wheel does not scroll at all; instead, rolling the wheel either up or down return the document to the top (same as Ctrl+Home); further wheel actions have no effect. Is there any setting anywhere that I could change in order to have it right? Thanks

I've just installed the latest LyX 15.4 on Windows. Is there a way to change the mouse wheel scrolling to a page rather than 1 line at a time?
