iPhone and iPod desktop sound dock
I received an iPhone and iPod Sound Dock for Christmas from my father. This is a desktop unit, plugged via a mains outlet, and consists of two speakers, one on the left, one on the right, and a docking station in the centre where you fit your iPhone or iPod. I am unfortunately having the same problem as described in my previous post. This device also charges your iPhone and iPod. The audio quality is excellent and is suitable for both music and speech from VoiceOver. There are three push button controls on the top right of the unit: power on and off, volume down and volume up. As soon as the iPhone or iPod is docked and the speakers are plugged into a mains outlet, the speakers power on automatically. Not only will it charge the device, it will also route all audio output to the speakers. Hello. It's not whether they have a clue; it's whether they C-A-R-E. Many folks have complained about the accessibility of Facebook to the developers without much success. Update Re: iPhone and iPod Travel Speakers
Christopher H TAFN member I have an update on the travel speakers. These speakers do not actually get charged. How they work is: 1. If you wish to use it with your iPhone or iPod, place the iPhone or iPod in the docking station. All audio will be routed to the speakers, however they will not charge the iPhone or iPod. 2. If you wish to use speakers with a laptop, for example, you have to connect the two cables I described below. The 3.5 mm cable goes in the computer's audio out socket. The USB cable powers the speakers when used in this configuration. Otherwise the below still applies. I should also mention there is an on/off switch somewhere at the top of the unit. The two push button controls are volume down and volume up respectively. Christopher H On 01/01/2012 11:34, chris hallsworth wrote: Happy New Year to you all from here in the UK! We are 11 hours into 2012. Here is my first post. I received iPhone/iPod Travel Speakers as a Christmas present from my father. It looks like it has a docking station as well as you fit the iPhone or iPod into the opening at the centre. The only way I can describe it is a larger than usual toilet roll lol. The two speakers at either end look like spotlights. How to set it up it looks like: 1. Plug one end of the 3.5 mm cable into the correct slot on the device. Plug the other end into the iPhone or iPod's audio out socket. 2. Another interesting observation is that you appear to be able to charge the speakers via the supplied USB cable. So you would plug the USB end into an available USB port on the computer, then plug the other end into the correct socket on the device. You will know if it is the correct socket as it will go in without resisting. It is charging as I speak. There are also a couple of push button controls, LEDs, additional sockets, etc. But I do not know what they do yet. The only problem I am having is that the iPod does not want to fit properly unlike the iPhone. Unfortunately my father could not tell me if it was compatible with the iPod Touch 4, however it does say on the packaging compatible with iPhone and iPod. Please advise on this one. Thanks! I am therefore wondering if you have heard of this device before and if so what do you think to it? I will post a separate message about my desktop sound dock. It is a great app the developers have made it fully accessible with VO, not sure if this was intentional but it is great anyway, It does everything the Facebook app is supposed to do. The only thing that I have found that doesn't work is the settings section of the app, I did send a email to the developer to see if they would fix this issue, and to see if they would add push notifications to the app. The app even uses the Vo gestures to back to the previous page which I missed greatly on the Facebook app. It is a all around well done app. There is two versions of the app one that is $.99 and that is free, I have purchesed the paid version. Tip of the day: really customize your music and videos on your iOS device
I apologize in advance if this should be posted elsewhere. I use iTunes for the other operating system, so the below steps may or may not apply on your mac. Hello all. Are you fighting with iTunes because you don't want something in your music library, only to be re-copied during a sync? This is what happened to me. I deleted a Christmas album from my iTunes library for obvious reasons, but it got re-copied when I synced my iPod. Here is the solution I found. 1. In the sources tree, select your iOS device. 2. Make sure the summary radio button is selected. 3. Check the manually manage music and videos check box. 4. Click apply. 5. Now expand the tree for your iOS device so you can see music, etc. Let's take music as an example. 6. Focus to the music list. 7. Delete one or more entries. To delete all, select all with ctrl-a then delete with the delete key. 8. Click remove if you are asked to do so. 9. Magically, some or all of the music on your iOS device has now disappeared! 10. Collaps the tree so you only see your iOS device. 11. Make sure the summary radio button is selected. 12. Uncheck manually manage music and videos. 13. You will be warned that content on your iOS device will be replaced by content in your iTunes library. So make sure you don't have anything you don't want in your iTunes library before proceeding. Click ok to continue. 14. Click apply. 15. Now do a sync to your iOS device. 16. All being well, only the music you want will be on your iOS device! Hope this tip is of some use. Re: Podcaster Question
Hi Jane, Although there is an unsubscribe button at the bottom of each podcast's page in the current version of Podcaster, I take 2 additional steps in order to make sure any downloaded episodes get deleted from the iPhone's database prior to unsubscribing. Here are the steps that seem to work for me: 1. From the main Podcaster screen, double-tap the podcast you want to unsubscribe. This will put you into the screen for that podcast. 2. In the bottom right corner of the screen, double-tap the More button and select the Mark all as read choice. 3. Double-tap the Podcast settings button which is second from the right on the bottom of the screen, and select Cleanup from the settings menu to delete any downloaded episodes from the local database. 4. Double-tap the Unsubscribe button on the bottom of the screen. This should complete the process. HTH, Bryan . Sent from my iPhone. Re: Deleting multiple contacts on iPhone
There is no way to delete multiple contacts. They must be deleted individually. However, there is an app called deleteq in which you can do this. Re: does this app work?
If you want to edit wordpress pages on the mac try mars edit. If it is for iphone try the free wordpress app. Both work very well. the i-phone 4 s and phone calls
i am thinking of purchasing the i-phone 4 s sometime this year. i think if i don't want to be penalised for upgrading, the earliest i can upgrade is august this year i think. is the 4 s better at dealing with calls while running voiceover? i don't know if this only happens with voiceover users or if it at all affects non voiceover users as well but the 4 is known for switching between earpiece and hands free speaker. apart from of course wearing a headset the only way of avoiding the problem on the 4 is to temporarily switch off voiceover by pressing the home button twice and then having to remember to do the same at the end of a call which is a bit of a nusance. has this problem been addressed on the 4 s? i tried to just disable wifi before calls only that didn't appear to work as a solution to the problem of me either speaking to someone or someone talking to me and parts of the call breaking up because of this switching between the earpiece and speaker when the phone isn't near your ear. as far as i am aware this doesn't happen to a non voiceover user from my experience of temporarily turning it off and someone who borrowed my phone to speak to their mother about an important avon order for work that they were in a hurry to put through because they didn't have access to the internet at the time. --- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net --- To reply to this post, please address your message to mac-access@mac-access.net You can find an archive of all messages postedto the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html or at the public Mail Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-access@mac-access.net/.
