 Hi All,
There is a neat software for PCs called the vOICe.
It is a program that not only is a color detector, but it sonifies the

I have used this on my laptop, and I recently contacted the developer of

there is something prohibitive about making such an app for IOS devices.
My question is, does anyone know if there is an app that does a similar

It serves the list no purpose to send a message such as I like this app.
If you can't sell it to the list, don't bother telling us about it.
There are thousands of useful apps, but only a handful may be of interest,

Ian,
Please don't be thin skinned about this.
Anyone posting to the list about an app should tell about it, assuming that
nobody knows about it.
Unless of course you are asking for information on such an app, which

Re: Drag and Drop

2012-01-06 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello John,

DragDrop works for me. If you want to drag a file into a folder, you do
VO-Comma on the file, navigate to the folder and press VO-Period and the file
will move into the folder.

If you're dragging from one window to another, both windows must be visible on
the screen. You can use the commands for moving windows to put one at the top
left and the other at the bottom right of the screen to be sure that they're
both visible.

Cheers,

Anne

A mail question or two

2012-01-06 Thread Daniel McGee
Hi all have a couple of mail questions for you.

1. When receiving mail, if I get a lot of mail. Example 28 messages for this
list, why doesn't VO remember where I left off previously. To give you an
example, going with the 28 messages well next time I use my Mac and have
received all of those messages, I would be on 26 therefore I would have to
arrow down twice my messages being sorted in the most recent at the very top
and then start going up the list of unread ones. In other words, way doesn't VO
stay on the message I last left it. If that makes any sense.

2. More simple this question and its simply is there any way to get VO to
announce a message being unread. At present arrowing up and down unread
messages makes them as red.

I am using Lion with all latest updates. I also have Mail set in the standard
view but I have disabled the conversation threading thing.

Look forward to hearing from all you experienced Mac Mail users!

Daniel

Re: Automatic reading of text

2012-01-06 Thread Geoff Waaler
Hi Sarah,

You are describing the behavior I would expect. Are your texts and
notifications also read when that switch is toggled off? If so that sounds
like a bug that I am not experiencing on my 4S running 5.01.

Best regards.
Geoff

Actually I don't think that will work. Mine is on as well and it will still
read them when the screen is not locked. Drives me nuts.

Hi all
As the subject says.

How do you stop voice over from automatically reading text when they
arrive?

I like the feature, but gets annoying when you receive a text when you are
on the phone, as it stops you from being able to hear the other person.
Thanks as always.

They do. They do not read when the screen is locked and the notification comes
in and you view the lock screen but they will always read on the home screen.
even when your phone is muted.

Hi Catherine, command L is the keyboard command that you need to get into the
address bar. Adding to that if you want to delete the whole address that is
command A this will highlight the text in there press the delete key or
backspace key and once its all gone, you are good to go in typing a new address!

Hope this helps you.
