Re: IOS podcatchers - was Apple's standalone Podcasts app for iOS is out

2012-07-02 Thread Sean Murphy
Hi,

I can see why Apple has branched off their Podcast feature of the iTunes into
its own app. It reduces complexity of the ITune app.

IMHO, despite being a paid app, Podcaster is worth Apple's asking price
for Podcasts, and not a cent more!! At least in my experience, its a
nest of perpetual bugs, that flourish despite several updates. It does
seem more usable than Podcasts though.

How do others find Downcast? Do the purported features actually work,
and are the devs responsive when contacted (for me, both are sadly
 lacking in Podcaster).

Re: IOS podcatchers - was Apple's standalone Podcasts app for iOS is out

2012-06-26 Thread Thejazzden
I find DownCast easy and intuitive to use, with a good podcast directory and
range of features. To me at the price you pay for many ofthe IOS apps it's well
worth supporting the developers. I would not like it if Apple were to have too
big a monopoly on apps, and I can't really see why they have split podcasts
off in this way.
