Re: Libre Office 4.1 accessibility fail

2013-08-25 Thread Boris Dušek
I am working on fixing LibreOffice accessibility on OS X. Currently focused
on Writer text component.
The just released LibreOffice 4.0.5 starts providing typing and cursor
movement echo on OS X 10.7 and 10.8.

And LibreOffice 4.1.2 (due in late September) and LibreOffice 4.2 will have
much better support for text accessibility, including announcing misspelled
text and other text attributes and searching for them, among others. If you
would like to get a sneak peak, you can download and try the daily build of
4.1 at:

http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/MacOSX-X86_64@43/2013-08-25_07.28.50/master~2013-08-25_07.28.50_LibreOfficeDev_4.2.0.0.alpha0_MacOS_x86-64.dmg

I will post to this forum with 4.1.2 is released and hope to get some more
features/fixes (e.g. accessible links in text) into it before the 4.1.2
deadline.

Cheers,
Boris

Reading Kindle books in the iOS app using a braille display

2013-08-25 Thread Edward Green
Hi,

Please could someone tell me how to navigate to the next page using a braille
display in the Kindle iOS app? I can read the contents of the currently visible
page but don't seem to be able to move it on.

I've seen a couple of posts on the net about the command not always working,
but I can't find out what the command actually is.

I'm using a BraillePen12 if that makes a difference.

Many thanks for any assistance.

Ed

Hi and thanks. This sounds really good. What i would wish you had a look at is
the fact that just as in Openoffice, even when it was at its peak of
accessibility, every paragraph was treated as a separate edit box, making it
really hard to read long pieces of text. I hope this will be fixed in a future

keynote question

2013-08-25 Thread jean parker
Anne Robinson and others:
Thanks for the info about Keynote.
Now a question. Is there any way to read the slides while in play or slideshow
mode? Also, what is the best way to review the slides with voiceover. I
notice they do read in the editor after some complicated navigation I can kind
of figure them out but a more streamlined approach would be appreciated.
Off-list communication about this is also ok.
Many thanks,
Jean

Re: Question: where does mail go if you press the archive button in mail on the iPhone?

2013-08-25 Thread Eugenia Firth
Hi there
If you want on your iPhone it gives you choices for where to put it. If you
don't make any of those choices, then it may be in your trash folder. You may
not have archived it either because once you press the move button then you get
the choice of your accounts on your iPhone. You might want to look in some of
your other folders on your iPhone too. I did this once on my Mac and I
discovered that below the Archive choice is for you to archive on your mat.
Hope this makes sense.
Regards,
The messages go in the cloud if you archive it on your iPhone. Gigi

Re: Question: where does mail go if you press the archive button in mail on the iPhone?

2013-08-25 Thread Nicholas Parsons
It depends what type of email account you were using and what the settings
were. But usually it will have gone to a folder called archive or, on gmail,
[IMAP]/archive. You should be able to find the archive folder in the accounts
section of Mail on your iPhone. But, like Gigi said, it may have gone to trash;
though, usually with VO it will tell you whether the button is going to send it
to trash or archive.
Cheers,
Nic

How to use loops in Garageband for iOS?

2013-08-25 Thread Daniela Rubio
Hi all:
I am working on Garageband in iPad with some students and I need to bring some

I forgot how to do it, or because something has changed and it is not possible
